Emerging technology brings both opportunities and challenges. To advance our capabilities and tackle shared challenges, we must work in ever closer partnerships. 🇸🇬 At the Singapore Defence Technology Summit, General Jim Hockenhull, engaged with hundreds of defence and industry leaders from 30 countries on how technology is changing warfare. He emphasised the need for us to: 💡Innovate - understand how new technologies such as AI, autonomous systems, and quantum computing are reshaping warfare and security. 🤝Integrate – recognise that governments, military forces, industry, and academia must work together in new ways to break traditional boundaries and adopt new technology faster. 💻Influence - ensure that these technologies are used in ways that protect our security, alliances, and values. Technology will continue to evolve, and we must evolve with it, working alongside international and industry partners to continually learn, innovate, and adapt. #technology #collaboration

🔬 Meet Becky and Jolie, two engineering degree apprentices from Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) currently on a six-month placement at our Defence College for Military Capability Integration (DCMCI). Their current project involves testing which weapon parts can be 3D printed in the field. This work could transform how troops adapt to equipment failures in remote locations. 🗣️"We've 3D printed a scope mount for a gun, that has been successfully trialed and tested on site at the Small Arms Experimental Range," says Jolie. Through their work, Becky and Jolie show how the DCMCI at our Defence Academy of the United Kingdom is developing a new generation of problem-solvers who adapt to challenges, using technology to create practical solutions for our forces. 📲Find out more about their work: https://lnkd.in/eTebJsYJ #BSW25 #STEM
