Here's what happens when thoughtful landscape design is given time to flourish. 🌱➡️🌳 Dan Hutchinson and Isabelle Carter recently visited the Met Office Data Centre to see how their landscape design has evolved over eight years. Featured in a film by The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the team rediscover a space that nurtures pollinators, provides food for birds and bats, and contributes meaningfully to local wildlife networks. Senior Associate Architect Rachel Bremner caught up with Anna Highfield from Architects’ Journal recently to discuss our proposal for the Devonport House project. 📰 The proposal will transform a Grade II listed former naval hospital nurses’ home into a state-of-the-art teaching and community space for the University of Greenwich. This week, the Royal Borough of Greenwich unanimously voted to approve plans for the Devonport House Project 🎉 Our proposal will carefully transform a Grade II listed former naval hospital nurses' home into a state-of-the-art teaching and community space for the University of Greenwich. Working in collaboration with Purcell, we propose to restore many of the building’s period features, while a contemporary extension will sensitively connect to the original structure via a striking glazed atrium. Outside, new pedestrian routes will enhance connections to Greenwich Park, with green spaces that invite people to pause, gather, and reflect as they explore the Maritime Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage Site. We look forward to the next step in extending the life of this historic building for the next generation. Two transformative changes are shaping Stride Treglown’s future. Congratulations to our newly appointed Board Directors Laura Cassullo and Danny Harris 🎉 Laura’s design flair and infectious energy have been the driving force behind our London studio’s growth since she joined us in 2023. She brings to the board a superb combination of commercial experience and emotional intelligence. Danny’s strengths in strategy and innovation will bring real dynamism to the board. After joining us as an Architectural Assistant in 2014, his hard work and collaborative approach have propelled him to become one of our youngest ever board directors. 𝐄𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐎𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 The appointments coincide with our transition to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) model—the next step in our journey that began in 2015 when we were one of the first architectural practices to become employee owned. The move strengthens our governance and gives our employees a stronger voice in how we run the practice, while having a greater share in the rewards of our collective, long-term success. Here's to an exciting future! Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/eqvWVu-b
