    Are you finding colour checkers aren't quite hitting the mark? Same. But instead of just grumbling - although we did a fair bit of this - we decided to make our own! It combines some of our favourite features of various colour checkers that we have used. All are up to date, assessing colours against WCAG 2.2 guidance. Check two colours against each other, and get accurate and specific contrast ratio data along with colour suggestions for non-accessible combinations. Check a whole palette of colours against each other Name your colours so they are easy to identify You will also be able to download your assessed palette as an .ase, .ai or .pdf file for your teams to start using that accessible palette straight away.     Stop making these 3 KEY MISTAKES with your brand. 1. Thinking EVERYONE is your audience. This is never true. In fact, usually, you can narrow your audience down to one or two types of consumers. 2. Trying too hard to fit in with trends. Your brand should be led by a strong strategy not the constantly changing visual trends. Get your look and feel to align with your purpose and you'll never be chasing those trends again. 3. Thinking that a great logo alone will get you the fame that Nike or Apple have. We hear this a lot, and unfortunately, the success of big brands like Nike and Apple has come through years of consistent brand strategy, not their logos alone. Don't try and say everything with one asset, make sure that your full suite of assets, which includes your copywriting and marketing strategy are all working together to create a powerful brand identity. #Branding #Strategy #BrandStrategy

    Each year, we throw a big summer party to celebrate all of our hard work throughout the year. This year we went blacksmithing with The Quinnell School of Blacksmithing. Although it was definitely a party, we all learnt a lot. Here are the highlights: Blacksmithing is hot, sweaty but rewarding work! We all had to let go of getting that perfection that we designers are always striving for - when you are new to something, it's all about making mistakes and learning from them. Lastly, we learnt that Michelle is a secret blacksmith pro (or somewhere near!).     Not understanding your audience means your marketing efforts go unnoticed 1️⃣ You don’t know who they really are Without a deep understanding of your audience, you’re just guessing. Demographics aren’t enough—you need to understand their behaviours, motivations, and what drives their decision-making process. 2️⃣ You’re speaking the wrong language If your messaging doesn’t align with what matters most to your audience, they’ll tune out. You need to understand their pain points and values, and how they want to be spoken to. 3️⃣ Your targeting is too generic If you’re trying to appeal to everyone, you’re connecting with no one. Personalisation based on audience insights is essential to making an impact.
