🪵Wild Work Day🪵 A team from Savills came joined us at Trimley Marshes last week for a business volunteering day and helped to build stag beetle pyramids in our section of woodland. 🪲Stag beetle larvae live in rotting wood for between five and seven years before becoming an adult beetle for a single summer (generally July and August). They are a priority species for Suffolk and in decline due to a reduction in dead wood habitat. Thanks to the Savills team for your hard work and efforts. We will be monitoring the habitat created and hope to see lots of adult stag beetles in five to seven years time! ☎️ If you would like to book your team onto a rewarding, fun filled day at one of our nature reserves, where you will feed good by doing good things for nature, then contact Sophie Flux sophie.flux@suffolkwildlifetrust.org #teambuilding #stagbeetles #esg

🪵Wild Wellbeing Day 🪵 What a brilliant day we had with the team from the AXA Broker UK Suffolk team on one of our 'Prescribing a dose of Vitamin N' days 🌿🌳. We made naturally-sourced mallets, learnt three new knots (timber hitch, round turn and two half hitches, and an alpine butterfly in case you're wondering 🪢), cooked a delicious veggie stew over the fire, and spent some time relaxing in nature 😌 ☎️If you would like to spend a day with your work colleagues doing this, please contact us: wildmybusiness@suffolkwildlifetrust.org #vitaminnature #naturefun #nature #backtobasics #AXA #Ipswich #campfire

These boxes will help provide them swifts with safe nesting spaces to combat their declining numbers. Thank you to all of those involved with installing these boxes, you are helping create a wilder Suffolk!

Our Swift Boxes, which we assembled at our annual Conference, have now been donated to KESGRAVE HIGH SCHOOL on behalf of SOS Swifts! The school has received 18 nest boxes and a call system. The school has multiple locations for these boxes as there is opporuniuty of getting a larger colony of birds there! We look forward to hearing more about how these Swift Boxes have increased biodiversity in the area and look forward to seeing more images of our Swift Box donations across the country. #birds #swiftboxes #donations #team #bunzl #wearebunzl #sustainability

🚮Wild Work Day at Dingle Marshes, Dunwich 🚮 We had a superb day at Suffolk Wildlife Trust's Dingle Marshes this week with a team from WTW. The team worked really hard and we were delighted to spend the day with them. Dingle Marshes is a fantastic site for learning about the importance of citizen science, the climate crisis & the nature crisis and how we can all take meaningful action to make positive change through litter picking & conducting a biodiversity survey. The wildlife is also amazing there as this nature reserve is the largest reedbed in Britain. This week we were treated to the sight of magnificent Spoonbills, along with Little Egret, Oyster Catcher & a Marsh Harrier. But not only is there fantastic scenery & sights at Dingle Marshes, there are also brilliant facilities at the Beach too, with everyone enjoying fish and chips at the tea rooms for lunch after a guided walk. So a truly amazing place for a staff volunteering day as it ticks so many boxes! ☎️If you would like to attend one of these empowering and fun volunteering days with your business, please contact Sophie Flux or email sophie.flux@suffolkwildlifetrust.org 🔗https://ow.ly/jcfc50TvUQJ #suffolk #volunteering #wtw

It's that time of year when our Wardens and volunteer teams are topping the reeds and grasses at our marshland nature reserves 🌾 The sight of tractors cutting may seem harsh on the landscape, but it's an essential job to help generate optimal regrowth in spring for the benefit of wildflowers, bees, and other pollinating insects. The fresh growth also provides the perfect habitat for breeding waders such as avocet, lapwing and redshank. A huge THANK YOU to all of our amazing volunteers who have helped with raking and clearing so far. We couldn't do it without you! 💚 📷 photos from our teams at Carlton Marshes and Trimley Marshes. #WildlifeConservation #Volunteering #Suffolk
