This week is Trustees Week! Sunderland Empire Theatre Trust are a not-for-profit registered charity that sit separately from our organisation, and who’s fundraising allows creative learning to take place in local communities, unlocking their potential through the resource of cultural education. Recent annual success includes: Over 11k individual participants engaged – an increase in 2.5k YOY. 800 creative learning sessions delivered across schools and communities. 7.5k audiences to creative learning produced events and performances. Over 1200 targeted tickets distributed in partnership with touring productions. We would like to take the opportunity to thank local organisations and individuals for their kind donations to ensure this important work is delivered in our local community, and also thank all of our Trustees for their support. Last week we were delighted to host the incredible individuals and organisations behind Public Record, our brand-new co-production with partners National Theatre and Sunderland Culture, which celebrates the heart and soul of Sunderland through its people, music and dance. It was an absolute joy to meet some of the talented musicians, artists, writers, and community members shaping this wonderful project. Hearing more about the show had us all buzzing with excitement and we can’t wait to bring it to you next year at The Fire Station!
