“𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 & 𝙋𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙢𝙚𝙚𝙩...𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙒𝙝𝙞𝙨𝙠𝙮” It’s been now a week since we had the privilege of hosting the passionate and talented team Scarfes Bar, Rosewood Hotel for a winter experience of The Lakes Distillery and Lake District too, embracing the Rosewood’s ethos of “Sense of Place”. Beside tasting the current range, our whisky maker Sarah Burgess gave an insight on her career journey in whisky, and she delve into our approach to@maturation and Élevage. Of course we couldn’t miss tasting the unique Whiskymaker’s Editions Decadence, the bespoke limited edition designed specifically for Scarfes Bar. This was also a special visit for me, as I finally had the chance to witness the dramatic surroundings of our distillery covered by the snow. For the first time The Lakes Distillery has earned a place in the Drinks International’s prestigious Top 10 Trending Brands of World Whiskies. This recognition, part of their annual Brand review drawn from a 100-strong sample of global bars, is a testament to the incredible strides we’ve made in such a relatively short time. December 2024 marked 10 years since production began at our our beautiful distillery. Over the past decade, we’ve slowly but steadily built a reputation that extends beyond the UK, gaining recognition on the international stage. Today, as we enter a new year and an exciting chapter on our journey, we couldn’t be happier to see The Lakes celebrated on some of the finest bars around the world. We are delighted to announce that The Whiskymaker's Editions Galàxia has been awarded the double gold medal at this year's Warsaw Spirits competition. Held annually in Poland, the competition attracts distilleries from around the world and is judged by a panel of industry experts who evaluate the spirits based on their aroma, taste, and overall quality. With over 600 entries and only 1% placing as double gold, to receive this recognition is truly an honour.

“I’d never blended a thing in my life apart from soup!” Sarah Burgess has been working in whisky for three decades and these days puts her name to things infinitely more impressive than a bowl of pea and ham!
