About us
The National Lottery Community Fund has a critical role to play in supporting communities to unleash their energy and potential so they can get to where they want to be. We are one of 12 distributors of National Lottery funding. We work closely with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and the license holder for The National Lottery, currently Allwyn, to distribute National Lottery funding across the UK. Social connections and community activities are at the heart of creating healthier, happier lives and a flourishing society. That’s why The National Lottery Community Fund supports amazing community-led projects, and why we’re looking to make a bigger difference in the years ahead, by listening and responding to communities and by focusing on supporting bolder change. Thanks to National Lottery players, we plan to distribute at least £4 billion of funding by 2030. Supporting projects that will create resilient communities that are more inclusive and environmentally sustainable. Projects that will strengthen society and improve lives across the UK. Beneficiaries of LBEA are celebrating £72,000 of #NationalLottery funding to support older members of the community with their day-to-day living, enabling them to have happier, healthier lives. Thanks to #NationalLottery players, diverse older communities in Leeds now have a fantastic community garden - a place for peace and contemplation. #BlackHistoryMonth

Almost £450,000 in #NationalLottery funding will allow Coventry-based youth homelessness charity Bardsley Youth Project to coach approximately 400 local young people who are facing housing issues over the next five years. The project welcomes young people into a safe space to connect with the team and those with shared experiences, enabling young people to gain the skills they need to fulfil their potential and avoid repeat homelessness and debt. Rachel Orman, Communication and Fundraising Worker for Bardsley Youth Project said: “Thanks to #NationalLottery players, we will be able to support Coventry’s young people navigate the complex issue of homelessness.” “There are usually many complicated social, emotional, and financial factors that culminate in homelessness. Our work tackles these key risk factors, reducing the risk of serial homelessness.” #NationalLottery30

Our Healthy Communities Together programme, in partnership with Cordis Bright and The King's Fund, seeks to develop an environment for innovation between the VCSE sector, the NHS and local authorities to create healthier, happier communities. Early evidence has demonstrated the importance of improved cross-sector collaboration, creating a deeper understanding of health and wellbeing challenges – especially for communities facing poverty, disadvantage and discrimination. We’re excited to share the interim report from the first year of the programme evaluation. Find out more: https://ow.ly/rgXQ50TObth

Thanks to #NationalLottery players, we're proud to be supporting organisations like Right To Succeed and its #CradletoCareer project, which is helping young people across the Liverpool City Region to thrive and have a better start in life. You can listen in below to what they have planned ⬇️.
We are delighted to announce that Cradle to Career has been awarded £1.2 million in National Lottery funding to expand the programme across the Liverpool City Region. This investment is a testament to the incredible potential that exists within these communities, who have often been overlooked amidst the challenges of recent years. As our CEO, Graeme Duncan emphasises, “we are leaving a lot of potential on the table” by not supporting these communities to thrive. That is why Cradle to Career is committed to collaborating with communities to build upon existing opportunities and ensure that the programme is tailored to their unique needs. By bringing together schools, professionals, community organisations and local residents, we are creating a strong network that supports all children and young people to thrive. As said by Graeme, ‘'when people come together...you can get amazing outcomes for children and young people and get them a lot closer to their potential '’. 👉 Hear the full interview from our CEO, Graeme Duncan discussing the funding news and vision for the future on BBC Radio Merseyside with Kevin Duala. A huge thank you to all our dedicated partners and funders who have been instrumental in the success and positive impact of Cradle to Career.
