We are very excited to launch our updated education programme with our newly designed school workshops! Each workshop aims to inspire pupils to think about peace through a range of practical, interactive and cross-curricular activities. Inspired by the stories in our collection and exhibition, the workshops cover a range of themes including remembrance, conscientious objectors, experiences of displacement, refugees, the art of protest, treaties and working collaboratively for peace. To start with we will be delivering our workshops in schools only, before opening our new learning space in 2025. More information about the different workshops we offer and how to book can be found on our website: https://lnkd.in/eB3FWfKx

Our museum in motion 🕊️ Here’s a closer look at the work that’s taken place over the last year to transform this previously unused space in Salts Mill into our new home. Developing this incredible mill space into something new required a lot of people, skills, tools and determination. Time flies when you’re creating a new museum! - Thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund for their vital support of our redevelopment project. Thanks also to Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture for their support in transforming this space. #NationalLottery #HeritageFund #Bradford2025

On Saturday I had a fab time volunteering at The Peace Museum! ✌️🎉 It's so exciting having the national peace museum right here in #Bradford and I'm so happy to see it thriving in it's new home in Salts Mill. ☮️ From Gerald Holtom's original designs for the CND peace logo, to the colourful banners visitors create, the exhibition inspires hope and solidarity. 🪧 A huge well done to Joe Brook and the team - thanks for having me, can't wait to be back!

We're open! After being closed for the last four years, we finally reopened on Saturday 10th August. This entire relocation and redevelopment project has been a complex, multi-step process, that has required a lot of hard work from many different people along the way! Now we are open, we get to see why that work has been worthwhile. In our first three weeks, we have had over 5,000 visitors to our new space in Salts Mill. It has been fantastic to see people's responses to our new space and how people are engaging with our new permanent exhibition. Thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund for their vital support in our relocation and the creation of a new engaging and accessible museum space. Thanks also to Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture for their help in turning the historic mill space back into life. The Peace Museum’s reopening is just the beginning of what will be an exciting and ambitious next chapter. Over the coming months, we will be launching our educational programme, events programme and research facilities. Be sure to keep in touch with us online and keep an eye out for some very exciting announcements coming soon...

Well what a fab first week of reopening at The Peace Museum. My brilliant team worked so hard to get us across the line and their passion really shows. We've welcomed nearly 3000 visitors to our museum this week and its been an absolute joy. Its so wonderful to see a larger part of our vibrant collection on display, but even more so to see the power it has in triggering brilliant conversations across the generations. We've had tears of joy and pledges of renewed energy for activism with quiet moments of reflection from those who just wondered in. Its been just lovely.
