Delighted to be one of the first surgeons in the UK to experience #HugeMed's 6.3Fr Single-Use Ureterorenoscope. Truly a thing of beauty - this is going to be #gamechanging I tried it on one of the most technically difficult scenarios - a 1.5cm anterior lower pole stone within a drooping solitary anatomical kidney, in an anticoagulated patient 😳 - unstented. I used 150uF Thulium Fibre (#TFL) laser / 6.3Fr #HugeMed Scope & 10-12Fr x 45cm Suction Access Sheath (FANS)... Stone treated within 1 hr. "Torque-correction" was a joy to use and vision was stunning. I look forward to discussing it in Bali at the #UAA over the next few days! • For over 20 years, Neil had constant knee pain. When he developed a pronounced limp and walking became a real struggle, he booked a consultation to see Mr Rob Pollock, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Princess Grace Hospital. Using Mako robotic technology, a 3D virtual model of Neil’s knee was created to assess the damage, and present the full clinical picture. A total knee replacement needed to be performed at the earliest opportunity. From where he was only two years ago to now is remarkable. Whilst he has to be mindful of his knee and not put it under too much strain, he is back to enjoying life. “Two years to the day of my operation, I successfully completed my first 28.4-mile ultra-walking marathon! I am thinking of signing up to another one before the year is out!” 🏃 Read the full story here https://lnkd.in/epj-Ua5F

October is Black History Month, and this year’s theme 'Reclaiming Narratives’ is a powerful reminder of the importance of correcting historical inaccuracies, uplifting untold success stories, and embracing the full richness of Black history and culture. We asked some of our colleagues to share their own personal narratives: Why is it important to celebrate Black History Month? What does it mean to them, and why is it crucial for HCA UK to recognise Black history? Stay tuned throughout October for in-depth interviews and personal stories shared by three of our colleagues featured in the film. #BlackHistoryMonth #ReclaimingNarratives #HCAUK #HCAHealthcareUK #DiversityAndInclusion #BlackVoices

  • Struggling with knee pain from osteoarthritis? Genicular Artery Embolisation (GAE) is a minimally invasive treatment that targets abnormal blood vessels in the knee, reducing inflammation and pain. It’s showing promising results for those with mild to moderate osteoarthritis who haven’t found relief through other treatments. 🥇The Princess Grace Hospital is the first private hospital in the UK to offer this treatment. In this article, Professor Mark Little explains more about how GAE can help improve your mobility and reduce pain https://lnkd.in/ePRaecgg

  • Yesterday, Mr Philip Charlesworth completed the first #Aquablation procedure at The Princess Grace. Aquablation therapy is the latest advancement in surgical treatment for urological conditions such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and it has many benefits: ✔ Greater precision in targeting and removing excess prostate tissue ✔ Minimally invasive, resulting in reduced post-operative pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times ✔ Preservation of urinary function by minimising damage to surrounding nerves Thank you to PROCEPT BioRobotics for helping us launch this innovative technology!
