It was a fantastic to see such a lovely nursery environment, with lots of opportunities for learning, play, exploring and adventures. The staff we met during our visit were so passionate and committed to delivering flexible and high quality early learning and childcare. Flexible Childcare Services Scotland and Susan McGhee are demonstrating innovative solutions to Scotlands childcare crisis. This model allows parents to sustain employment, and improves outcomes for children and families.
Last week our Cummings Park Nursery had visit from the team at The Robertson Trustwho came to see how our flexible childcare model was supporting parents in the Northfield area of Aberdeen. They were able to explore the space, interact with the children and get a deeper understanding of how our flexible early learning and childcare model actively reduces child poverty. According to one of the visitors, "I was so impressed by the passion of the team and the nursery itself is just fantastic." We are so lucky to have such a range of fantastic supporters, funders and stakeholders and we are so happy you enjoyed your visit! Until the next time!

🗣️ The annual Foundation Practice Rating (FPR) report into the performance of charitable foundations is now available. Download the Foundation Practice Rating report here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eSYEC8yv The FPR is an objective assessment of UK-based charitable grant-making foundations. It examines foundations’ practices in three key areas: diversity, accountability, and transparency. This year’s findings show gradual improvements in the sector, with progress across all three categories. However, diversity remains the weakest area, with no foundations receiving an A rating in this domain. In fact, only one A has ever been awarded for diversity in the four years of the FPR. The report assessed 100 foundations, with some of the smallest outperforming the largest. A concerning finding was that 21 of the foundations assessed had no website, making it difficult for applicants to access crucial information. Additionally, none of the 12 foundations that scored a D in all three domains had a website, further highlighting accessibility challenges within the sector. The FPR was initiated in 2021 by Friends Provident Foundation and is funded by a group of UK grant-making foundations. This year, the ‘Funders Group’ includes: Friends Provident Foundation; Barrow Cadbury Trust; City Bridge Foundation; John Ellerman Foundation; Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust; Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust; Paul Hamlyn Foundation; The Indigo Trust; The Robertson Trust; and John Lyon's Charity.
