We’re taking a moment to celebrate an amazing effort from four fearless finance teammates, who took on a Tough Mudder challenge last weekend to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. 💪 It was tough. We were lucky enough to welcome the incredible Helen Hardy to Very HQ last week as part of our Pride month celebrations. In 2021, Helen founded Manchester Laces, a football community inclusive to all women, non-binary and transgender people. Since then, Manchester Laces has grown into a network of seven thriving teams, welcoming people of all abilities. ⚽ As Helen said, ‘It’s a friendly, inclusive space built on compassion, where everyone is judged on how kind they are - not how good they are at football.” Our teammates loved hearing Helen’s story. It reminded us all to be kind before we are anything else. Thank you, Helen! And a big thank you to our brilliant LGBT+ colleague-led network for organising, including Jade Rock and Keeley-Jade Hunn, shown in our pic. Teammates at our Skygate fulfilment centre have been celebrating Eid-al-Adha this week. The important Islamic holiday is celebrated by Muslims worldwide. It’s also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, and marks the end of Hajj (the holy pilgrimage to Mecca). There was delicious traditional Asian food, including puri. And everyone came together for a fun fashion show featuring traditional Asian attire. Eid Mubarak from Team Skygate! #LifeAtTheVeryGroup
