🎧 New Episode: Transforming sales for creative professionals with Blair Enns 🎧 In this latest episode of the Beautiful Business Podcast, we’re thrilled to welcome Blair Enns, founder of Win Without Pitching, who brings a fresh perspective on selling for creatives. Speaking from his mountain village in British Columbia, Blair shares his insights on integrity-based selling and value-based pricing, challenging traditional sales approaches with his unique philosophy. Blair’s insights go beyond sales tactics. He advocates for a shift from ‘selling’ to ‘advising’, where experts lead with trust, authenticity, and authority. We explore the power of the “flip” moment, where the creative professional moves from vendor to trusted advisor, and how this transformation shapes richer client partnerships. Blair’s new book, The Four Conversations, dives into guiding discussions on value, qualification, discovery, and closing—each designed to nurture genuine client relationships. This episode is for anyone in the creative sector looking to establish themselves as an expert, build deeper connections, and embrace a more intentional approach to sales. 🎙️ Listen in to learn how to master the art of expertise-based selling. #Podcast #WinWithoutPitching #CreativeProfessionals #SalesStrategies #Expertise #TrustedAdvisor #BeautifulBusiness #ClientRelationships #ValueBasedSelling

Insight on the upcoming Budget from Natalie Howarth, Wow's awesome Head of Business Tax. Check it out 👇
Kier Starmer and Rachel Reeves made bold commitments at the UK Investment Summit yesterday, underscoring Labour’s plan for the economy: 💰 Corporation tax will be capped at 25% for the duration of their parliament. 🚀 R&D tax credits will remain in place, supporting innovation. 💼 The Annual Investment Allowance (AIA) stays at £1m, offering businesses continued relief on capital expenditure. But here’s what’s circulating in terms of future changes and predictions: 📈 Capital Gains Tax (CGT) could rise to around 30%, though the suggested 39% may be a step too far. We still don’t know if this would apply across all assets or only investment assets, while business assets might retain reduced rates. 🗂️ There’s speculation Labour might target employers’ NICs (but not employees’). 📉 Employer NIC on pension contributions could be in the works, potentially making contributions more costly for businesses or reducing their value for employees. 💷 Still talk of IHT and pension changes that may primarily target wealthier individuals. My take? While Labour seems keen to limit the impact on most individuals, small businesses could face tougher conditions—especially business owners looking to sell, given likely CGT rate hikes. 💡 Timing matters: If CGT changes are set for 6 April, business owners nearing an exit may want to act fast to lock in 10%/20% rates. If you’re preparing for a sale or thinking about how these changes could affect your business, let’s talk! I’m here to help with exit planning or navigating upcoming tax changes.

Hands-on and Holistic Agency Growth Advisor | Optimising Agencies Across Sales, Operations, Clients, and People | Agile Change Manager | German and British at Heart ♥
Are your projects not as profitable as they should be, but you don't know why or what to do about it? It was great to be part of this year's The Wow Company profit programme again and deliver yesterday's session on project profitability. In my first 7 years working agency-side, I grew my own department from 0-100 people. Understanding how we deliver projects in the best way was a huge focus area for me. You can wing it to a point (and a lot of agencies do up to around £1m turnover), but you need to understand how to do this profitably eventually. Here are some key points to keep in mind: BEFORE project: ✔ Focus more on qualification and scoping to improve pricing accuracy. Agencies rarely find out enough about clients' requirements to create profitable budgets. ✔Calculate everyone's charge-out rates properly. Use tiered pricing. Understand how long it takes you to deliver your work. Don't give anything away for free. Agencies often throw out reporting, catch-ups, PM time, and onboarding for free. Don't! ✔Agree Scope of Work and Ways of Working with new clients. It's hard for your client leads to push back when they have no agreement in place. DURING project: ✔ Hybrid Project Manager/Account Manager roles hardly ever work for profitability. Split them. AMs aren't PMs. AMs will always defend the client's needs, which can be pricey. ✔ Map out repeatable processes to avoid chaos and inefficiencies. Agencies often waste time and energy on making things up as they go along. Understanding who does what and how long certain tasks take can be a goldmine for profits. ✔ Give your teams access to data to make more informed decisions around profitability e.g. planned vs actuals, have we gone over/under, client/project profitability. ✔ Make things visible on your internal systems e.g. work in progress, tasks, outstanding work etc. to forecast profitability levels. AFTER project: ✔ Learn and change. Do wash-ups and reviews. Understand if and why margins were low. Was it due to inaccurate pricing? Skills? Client issues? Spot patterns, and introduce changes.
