The "Urban Tapestry: weaving a city together through Photographs and Stories" is a project initiated by Conscious Guwahati, a city chapter of The Centre for Conscious Design (CCD). This project is a part of the Upcoming Conscious Cities festival happening on March 21st-25th, 2025 focusing on the theme "Regrounding"- a deliberate practice of reconnecting time with place. Conscious Guwahati invites photographs and stories from the city's community on any one of the themes or for both, as stated under: 1. "Reconnecting with Place"- this theme encourages photographs of the city spaces that help you connect with them, emotionally, psychologically and physically. We are looking forward to knowing the stories behind these photographs on the connections with the city that have influenced your well-being, identities and sense of belonging. Stories of the city's built environment can also include your questions on how we can create meaningful spaces that promote social cohesion, and imbibe a unique identity as the city's community. Photographs for this theme can also include photo collages of elements that you desire for your city to move towards that makes it meaningful for you. 2. "Design of Time"- The second theme refers to having city spaces that can slow down time for us and foster relaxation, and creativity. We are curious to know the stories behind your photographs. We are looking to receive photographs with stories that help us reshape a newer healthier relationship with time. Photographs for this theme can also include photo collages of elements that you desire for your city to have, that can slow down time. We invite everyone who currently lives or has lived in Guwahati to take part in The Urban Tapestry project and share your photographs of the city with stories around themes "Reconnecting with Place" and "Design of Time". We are currently accepting entries from 20th September 2024 onwards. Every representation from the community counts as a voice towards reshaping a healthier Guwahati! Tomorrow - join us at The Cave! The September 2024 edition will focus on the theme of Comfort and Accessibility. We will explore together thoughts and questions on this topic, for example: Who is being left out? Have we forgotten the body underneath the brain? Is comfort about privilege? Bring your ideas and experiences to explore how this important topic relates to the built environment and to your practice in particular. The Cave is a gathering space for members of the Conscious Design Network who are actively exploring the frontiers of science-informed, people-centered design. It is a space where you can seek inspiration, peer-to-peer support and a trusted community to navigate the complexities of a field and industry in development. Join us! Please register in advance: https://lnkd.in/dVDGygPb The Cave events are not recorded. Hosted by Marta Delgado

We're proud to have Sarika Bajoria with us as a CCD Fellow! Sarika founded Contemplative Designer, an educational and research organization and her design practice Sarika Bajoria Unlimited with the singular vision to bring about a built world where each and every “outer spaces” is a mediator of human flourishing. To achieve this vision, she believes that we as designers have to intentionally build an “inner space” of flourishing within. It's been amazing to have Sarika with us for the past few months and we're excited about her future involvement. Follow Sarika Bajoria and read more about her here: https://lnkd.in/ds6bZ5nA
