If you're selling an agency check out the potential changes to capita gains tax here that might scupper your deal.
It's four weeks until UK Chancellor Rt Hon Rachel Reeves delivers Labour's first budget since taking office. If you are thinking of selling your agency business or already have a deal in process it might be worth reading Tony Walford's latest M&A column on The Drum. The Green Square Associates Limited director grabs his crystal ball and looks at what changes to capital gain tax could be imminent and how they could affect agency deals. "AI will never be trained to replace human creativity. It doesn’t have that human edge to have an emotional conversation. Of course we’re investing in AI, but we have a lot of great creatives here that are still writing great content and great stories. Excellent storytelling is still very much at the heart of what we do here.” - Jo Bacon, Group CEO at M&C Saatchi UK. Had an interesting conversation with Jo at M&C for The Drum's How I Run My Agency series. There was lots of talk of change, and agility. I asked her if she was impatient. Thankfully she didn't hang up on me. Read more: https://lnkd.in/evHeQMKu #advertising #agency #marketing #creativity

Canada is one of the safest places in the world for children – unless they’re online. Canadian Centre for Child Protection Inc. and No Fixed Address Inc.’s latest campaign features a powerful short film that highlights the stories of six mothers whose children were victims of online exploitation. The message is clear: spaces that should be safe for children, such as bedrooms or music rooms at school, are no longer secure when kids are online. The campaign urges Canadians to support the federal government’s Online Harms Bill, which requires social media companies to provide meaningful protection to children online. 📽️ Watch full video over on The Drum: https://lnkd.in/eQ2Md3Ry 🚧 TW: film addresses suicide/violence. #onlinesafety
