Think & Do is a space to give people the chance to develop ideas and projects tackling the climate crisis.
About us
Camden’s ‘Think & Do’ Pop-Up is a community space to give people in Camden the chance to come together to develop ideas and projects tackling the climate and ecological crisis. The creation of a new civic space is a direct follow on from Camden’s Citizens’ Assembly on the Climate Crisis. Think & Do runs pop-ups in different spaces across the Borough of Camden. Think & Do also runs projects which are developed and lead by residents. Our Vision Create a community ecosystem that is resilient and responsive to climate and social injustice. Find and implement creative solutions to challenges identified at a community level and respond to them collectively. Our Mission Think & Do will connect and activate the community through pop ups, events, exhibitions, webinars and projects designed, led and run by committed individuals. This will take place in partnership with Camden Council, residents, schools, businesses, and the whole community.

It’s London Climate Action Week 2024 and we’re taking a moment to reflect on our work with Think & Do Camden! 🌎 Back in March, we proudly supported Think & Do's Green Dragons Den event where 12 local primary schools pitched their sustainability initiatives to a panel of dragons, including our very own Riya Majithia. From reducing plastic waste to adopting greener waste management, these students are not just imagining a better world — they’re taking action to make it happen. Their passion and determination are a powerful reminder that real change begins with our youth. Watch our after-movie for a recap of the day and to see their projects in action! https://lnkd.in/eg27iTTg #LCAW2024 #NetZero

Back in March we held our second annual Green Dragons Den competition for Camden primary schools. This year 12 schools took part with 9 attending to pitch in person and 3 sending in written or video entries. We were so impressed by the children's confidence and passion for their projects which ranged from installing recycling bins in every classroom to increase recycling rates in the school, to planting a green wall alongside a busy road which boarders the playground and tackling lost uniforms with a new labelling system and school uniform swaps through out the school year! This video perfectly captures the spirit and energy of the day! Thank you to Camden Climate Alliance businesses who donated £5900 to support the projects which are underway and will be completed this Summer term. https://lnkd.in/ena9pRfy

We were thrilled to be joined by 40 corporate volunteers from Anthesis Group last Friday on Abbey Green Estate in Kilburn! In just 3 hours the team achieved so much. They litter picked 20 bags of rubbish from the estate and surrounding streets, thanks to Veolia Camden ECO team for the litter pickers. They also spread mulch on the new Communi-trees which were planted in Winter. Then achieved the mamouth task of painting the railings around the entrance to the estate, we had so many residents and neighbours coming over to say thank you for painting the railings and litter picking - it was so joyful! Thanks also to Mulalley for helping us to pull it together in a short timeframe and for the paints and other equiptment! Looking forward to working with you again. Call for sponsors to help a Camden School Project! Think & Do and Camden Clean Air Initiative are working with the Camden Climate Alliance to host the second Green Dragons Den event on Thursday 21st March. We're looking for organisations to sponsor grants of £100, £300 or £500 which will be given directly to a primary school to complete the projects they pitch on the day. Projects can range from organising clothes and uniform swaps to rewilding a patch of the school grounds or launching a behaviour change campaign to reduce single use plastic in the school. Sponsors of grants will be linked with the school directly to follow the project and build a long lasting relationship for future collaborations and partnerships. If you are interested in learning more and sponsoring a school, please get in touch with Emily (emily@thinkanddocamden.org.uk) #Camden #Schools #CamdenSTEAM #Primaryschools

Another week, another 30 trees planted! Thanks to everyone who came to help out at Mortimer Estate last week to complete the Communi-trees 2024 planting season. Big thanks to our volunteers from Veolia UK's Camden Team, Revcap Advisors Limited and The Hive (https://lnkd.in/eTMQbsKV) We're really looking forward to working with the residents of both Abbey and Mortimer Estates as the apple trees grow and bloom over the next few years.

We kicked off our first Communi-trees planting of 2024 last week with volunteers from Savills, Revcap Advisors Limited and LOUD MOBILITY. Thank you all for your hard work digging some big holes! Thank you, Camila Fernandez Tielens, Jolana Lee and Georgia Yexley for getting your teams involved. The Communi-trees project this year focusses on two estates in the West of the Borough, Abbey Estate and Mortimer Estate. We will be working on Mortimer this week planting a further 32 fruit and ornamental trees which will take us up to 70 trees across the two estates and will form the start of the Kilburn Orchard!
