Mulalley was pleased to attend the “Meet the Contractor” event held on Tuesday, 7 January at the Barrington Close Centre. Representatives from Baily Garner LLP, Epping Forest District Council (EFDC), and two councillors also attended. The purpose of the event was to introduce ourselves to the residents and shop owners, as the contractor appointed by EFDC to carry out external works on properties and shops at The Broadway. EFDC expressed gratitude for Mulalley’s significant contribution to the event's success. They informed us that the councillors were highly impressed by the professionalism and expertise demonstrated by the Mulalley and Baily Garner teams in addressing the questions raised by the councillors, residents and shop owner. Overall, the well-attended event was extremely positive and informative, providing a great opportunity for open dialogue between residents, shop owners, staff, and management. A Mulalley contingent attended the Considerate Constructors Scheme Gala Awards event to recognise and celebrate outstanding company-wide performance among contractors and partners who demonstrated excellence throughout the year. The prestigious event, held in recognition of industry leadership and achievements, took place at the Natural History Museum on 20th November. Our very own Bruce Benson MRICS MCIOB CIHM was recognised for being “a steadfast advocate for the Scheme for over a decade, consistently promoting its principles across every project he oversees” and became a founder member of their Hall of Fame. The Scheme’s citation continued the accolade for Bruce stating: “Bruce has prioritised integrating Considerate Constructors standards into Mulalley’s operations, ensuring that each project not only meets but surpasses industry expectations. His unwavering commitment to CC stems from his belief in the value it brings to both communities and clients. Bruce actively drives CC sign-ups, understanding the far-reaching positive impacts beyond the construction site. When a Mulalley project wins a CC site award, Bruce ensures clients are credited, further solidifying their trust in the company’s dedication to excellence. His leadership and devotion make him a distinguished member of our Hall of Fame.” And, as if this wasn’t enough, Max Wintle (Mulalley Assistant Site Manager), was also recognised for being a Rising Star in the under 30s Awards. Max was rewarded for being driven, knowledgeable, and an innovative young professional who has already made significant contributions to the construction industry. His promotion to Assistant Site Manager in 2023 is a testament to his growing expertise and leadership potential. With a strong foundation in site management, a dedication to safety and quality, and an openness to technological advancements, Max is a rising star who exemplifies the values of the Considerate Constructors Scheme. His proactive attitude and leadership potential will no doubt see him become a key figure in the future of the construction industry. Mulalley was pleased to take part in and support the Social Value Leadership Group’s (SVLG) Social Value week, which was held in late November to shine a light on all things social value, culminating in their Awards evening to recognise outstanding achievement. The SVLG is a network made up of over 50 housing associations, local authorities, and other organisations working within the housing sector. They are committed and dedicated to sharing best practice, growing collective impact for the betterment of communities and elevating social value throughout the housing sector. Mulalley’s Sustainability and Environmental Manager, Sean Robinson, kicked off the week with a presentation on sustainability and the ways social value can help reduce our environmental impact and improve biodiversity in the communities in which we work. Sean spoke about our environmental and energy management systems, resource efficiency, Mulalley Marketplace, carbon management, and building biodiversity, which was all vey well received by a captive audience. The week concluded with an Awards Evening held at the British Museum, attended by Peter Sharman and Jack Norris in support of Mulalley’s Head of Social Value, Julian Sanz 🌈, who was nominated by Peabody for the Best Social Value Leader Award. The evening celebrated all the excellent social value created and we’re pleased to say that Julian won the Highly Commended Award for being a Social Value Leader.

Thank you to all Mulalley staff that brought in items for the Welcome Project - your donations were again very gratefully received. Mulalley staff donated boxes filled with much-needed items to the Welcome Project in Ilford. During another difficult year for many, generous staff collected enough warm clothing, toiletries and food to fill seven large boxes. Project Manager Sonia Lynch was so delighted with the amount (and quality) of items our staff had donated and thanked us for our annual generosity - this is the 13th consecutive year we have collected items for the Welcome Project. The Welcome Project provides many services to men and women who are homeless from its purpose built Day Centre in Ilford. https://lnkd.in/epbwaXqz The project provides information, advice and guidance on a range of issues associated with homelessness; practical support; support with entering the job market; a nurse led clinic; counselling; alternative therapies and a chiropody clinic.
