We're pleased to share the impressive progress being made at 2 Trafalgar Way, a landmark project that's set to become Europe's largest Passivhaus student accommodation scheme. Less than a week to go until acclaimed artist Rana Begum joins us for a very special evening's discourse with curator Jonathan Watkins. Taking place on Thursday 30th January at 7pm, the talk will focus on Rana’s installation of chain link fencing and a number of works on paper exemplifying her signature preoccupation with the effects of light on, and through coloured materials, blurring the boundaries between sculpture, painting and architecture. Born in Bangladesh in 1977, Rana Begum lives and works in London. In 1999, Begum graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art and Design, and in 2002 gained an MFA in Painting from Slade School of Fine Art. Her work is often exhibited both in the UK and abroad, most recently at Whitechapel Gallery, Desert X 2023 (Coachella Valley, US) and the Dhaka Art Summit 2023. https://lnkd.in/eUHJkgrB

Happy New Year from Apt! We are delighted to share these photos of our recently completed project; ‘The Depot’. Sitting within the Imperial Gasworks conservation area, this naturally ventilated building provides a combination of office, welfare, storage, and vehicle parking for Cadent. The carefully considered design acknowledges its location within an expanding residential context and draws on a rich heritage of central London infrastructure buildings and local materials.  Fine details, including the metal work screens and entrance gates, evoke the history of the former gasworks site with reference to the framing patterns of the now dismantled Gasholder No.7, which was recognised a local landmark. #ThisisApt
