Ferrero Travel Market will unveil new launches from both its biscuit and confectionery portfolio at the forthcoming TFWA (Tax Free World Association) World Exhibition in Cannes. Avolta's Hudson has signed a seven-year contract with Allegheny County Airport Authority to expand its presence with six new retail stores at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). The expansion forms part of the airport’s US$1.57 billion Terminal Modernisation Programme, which includes a new landside terminal, alongside renovations to the existing airside terminal. The new stores will cover 8,000 sq ft (2,400sq m) of retail space, offering travel essentials and global brands in the airport’s new terminal, scheduled to open by the end of 2025. “Pittsburgh International Airport is evolving to meet the ever-growing needs of travellers and the surrounding region, and we are thrilled to be part of the transformation,” noted Avolta President and CEO North America Steven Johnson. WHSmith's travel business has delivered “strong growth” this year, the company has revealed in a pre-close trading update. Preliminary results for the year ending 31 August are due on 14 November. Group revenue was up +7% for the year versus 2023, driven by travel, which was up +10%. Travel performed well over its peak trading period in the second half, WHSmith confirmed, driven by key initiatives and strong passenger growth. Group CEO Carl Cowling commented: “We have ended the financial year in a strong position, delivering a performance in line with our expectations with good growth across our Travel businesses. The Pernod Ricard owned brand took us on a history-filled tour which covered the provenance and prestige of the whiskey, and Redbreast's deep-rooted connection with the people and places which make Irish whiskey what it is today. Redbreast also recently launched another of its core expressions, the 12-Year-Old, with Dubai Duty Free, and is currently in the process of securing listings across Southeast Asia, EMEA, Gulf & India.
