Redesigning prosperity for the 21st century. Time to make prosperity inclusive and sustainable for all.
About us
The Institute for Global Prosperity at UCL (IGP) is redesigning prosperity for the 21st century, changing the way we conceive and run our economies, and reworking our relationship with the planet. Our vision is to help build a prosperous, sustainable, global future, underpinned by the principles of fairness and justice, and allied to a realistic, long-term vision of humanity's place in the world. The IGP undertakes pioneering research that seeks to dramatically improve the quality of life for this and future generations. Its strength lies in the way it allies intellectual creativity to effective collaboration and policy development. Of particular importance to the IGP’s approach is the way in which it integrates non-academic expertise into its knowledge generation by engaging with decision-makers, business, the arts, civil society, and local communities. The IGP educates the problem solvers of the future. Our Master’s courses equip ambitious, entrepreneurial students with new approaches to prosperity, and we help them become transition leaders in their domains of interest.

💡 Reflecting on FemTech Innovation At Fast Forward 2030, we won’t stop talking about the impact of the FemTech industry and recognizing the amazing work entrepreneurs are doing to transform women’s health. At our latest event, we had an inspiring discussion led by Solveiga Pakštaitė and Bola Olabisi FRSA, with industry leaders such as Veronika Bridgman, Melis Eda Ekinci, and Lauren Tappin. All pushing the boundaries of innovation in women’s health. Their work, alongside solutions like Unravel Health, Woost, and Femtech Search, is reshaping the future of healthcare. That’s why we encourage everyone to keep the conversation going and find new ways to collaborate, so groundbreaking solutions continue to flourish and transform the way we approach health. To dive deeper, we’re excited to share our latest blog post, written by two brilliant Master’s students from the UCL Institute for Global Prosperity, Sundas G. and Yingfang Ma. 📖 Read more about the key takeaways and the inspiring work being done in FemTech https://lnkd.in/e_tHw9_m Let’s keep pushing for a more inclusive healthcare system! 💡 What do you think needs to change to make women’s health a priority? Congratulations to IGP's Solveiga Pakštaitė on this exciting next step for Mimica 🎉 🔬
Bump Tag is on steaks! I cannot tell you how excited I am to see our household trial kicked off with ABP UK, meat suppliers of major retailers. This trial is a pivotal step as we apply Bump by Mimica to meat for the first time, further expanding the range of foods Bump is compatible with. We've teamed up with Lab4Living at Sheffield Hallam University to help us collect feedback from 100 households who will use the Bump Tag and experience its benefits firsthand to observe its real-world impact. Also... don't they just look great??

Societies, like individuals, can get trapped in addictive patterns of behaviour like using fossil fuels or seeking 'growth at all costs'. In our latest blog, Professor Robert Costanza, of UCL Institute for Global Prosperity at UCL, discusses what we can learn from the individual addictions to overcome those on a societal level. 🔍 Read here: https://lnkd.in/e_WKRUxY

What are the difficulties faced by experts in influencing UK policy and facilitating its implementation? Prof Alison Scott-Baumann has been commissioned by successive UK governments, in 1998, 2008 and 2018, to influence their thinking, aiming to address big policy, macro-level thinking with micro-level, community evidence about citizenship. Now working inside Westminster, Prof Scott-Baumann works with junior scholars and students alongside politicians on what is considered meso-level policy, constituting issues of mutual interest and urgency. Join us for a Director's Seminar with Prof Alison Scott-Baumann, Professor of Society and Belief at SOAS. 🕟 Thursday 27 March, 4:30pm 📍 UCL Darwin LT 🔗 Register now: https://lnkd.in/e32vuxWV
