Ultra PCS has hosted another Engineering Summer School at our Cheltenham site. This is an annual event where we invite Year 12 school candidates to take part in a robot build challenge. We had nearly 30 applications, with 12 candidates selected to attend the Summer School. This year, our candidates were split into four teams based on their interests and subject strengths outlined in their applications. The robots were constructed on a Technic Lego chassis, which the teams had to design and build. Thank you to all who attended and to our team of organisers. Vanessa Chigariro and Joseph Fenwick, Graduate Engineers at Ultra PCS, have completed an impactful STEM project as part of Industrial Cadets Gold Award, acting as mentors for the team from St Edwards School, Cheltenham. Industrial Cadets Gold is a nationally recognised scheme run by EDT (The Engineering Development Trust), which aims to support aspiring Year 12 students towards a future in STEM.    Starting from a simple brief, the team created an innovative conceptual design and functional demonstrator unit for a medical 3D printer for deployment in harsh remote environments.   Vanessa and Joseph said: "We are so proud of our team for winning the 'Project of the Year Award' and we wish them all the best with their future careers."
