Have you ever wondered how rain impacts a system's insulation resistance? Data from the CableGuardian portal reveals that rainfall reduces the system's overall IR, causing both the daily peaks and troughs to be lower than usual. Essentially, this means that the highest IR values recorded in dry conditions are reduced during rain, as are the lowest points. For example, the system shown in the video typically reaches a daily peak IR of about 400–600 kilohms, with troughs around 100–200 kilohms. However, after rainfall, the peak dropped to 99–132 kilohms, while the troughs fell to 57–67 kilohms. This clearly demonstrates how rainfall can significantly decrease a system's IR values - all of which are recorded and shown in the CableGuardian portal.
