The Wagstaff Interiors Group - Scotland sales team in full! The Scotland sales team took some time out for a team photo at the Wagstaff Interiors Group head office during their recent trip to Clerkenwell. The team cover the entire Scottish central belt with John Brown Harriet Taylor based in Edinburgh, Karen Glasgow based in Livingston, Joanne Smith and Andrew Simpson based in Glasgow.

After a competitive tender through the Crown Commercial Service framework, Wagstaff Interiors Group - Scotland were appointed to provide FF&E for the new head office of a prestigious financial services company in Edinburgh. Wagstaff stood out for their innovative approach to the brief, offering an "eclectic but complimentary blend of furniture" which delivered both the right look and exceptional value.   Key areas of the project included comfortable breakout seating zones, designed to offer employees a relaxing space to meet and unwind away from their desks, as well as a welcoming tea-prep area for staff to relax and connect with colleagues.   One of the more challenging elements of this project was the reception area, where Wagstaff was tasked with creating a welcoming, high-end feel without it feeling overly corporate. We achieved this feel using two tone Boss Design Bodie Sofas, which the client fell in love with at first sight!   Wagstaff collaborated with a range of manufacturers, including Orangebox, Flokk, Interstuhl, FRÖVI, Workstories, Verco. completing the project both on time and under budget.

Wagstaff was appointed by Fife Council and Fife Cultural Trust (OnFife) to provide an extensive FF&E package for The Adam Smith Theatre, after being selected through a competitive tender process. Completed in late 2023, this extensive refurbishment transformed the aging building into a vibrant, modern multi-use space, described as the cultural heart of the community. The venue included a re-vamped theatre, a new design suite and co-working spaces, a stylish new café bar “The Spinning Top,” as well as various front-of-house areas, meeting rooms, function suites, and multipurpose spaces. The project brief required the creation of a design-led furniture specification within a challenging budget, ensuring that the design was both integrated and respectful of the building's history while offering a contemporary juxtaposition. Wagstaff was proud to support the design teams closely throughout the process and to play a key role in the successful delivery of this special project. The Wagstaff Interiors Group - Scotland sales team have been in Clerkenwell this week! Two fantastic days spent with manufacturers and colleagues discussing upcoming projects, inspirational new product launches, sustainability and how we work together to deliver amazing spaces for clients! The final member of the Wagstaff Interiors Group - Scotland team is Margaret Gallagher. After working within Financial Services for 28 years Margaret decided to make a career change to work with Wagstaff. Margaret has been with Wagstaff for 10 years , initially joining as Business Development Manager moving to Account Management and now looking after the Scotland team as Business Support. Within any industry you come across challenges but every challenge can be overcome with commitment, hard work and compassion for what you do. Margaret works tirelessly to support the sales team in their endeavours and is vital cog in the Wagstaff Scotland team!

The final member of the Wagstaff Interiors Group - Scotland team is Karen Glasgow. Karen started in the commercial furniture industry as a sales administrator for a furniture supplier, being promoted to office manager, branch manager, and finally out on the road, where she thrives meeting new people, developing existing relationships, some of which have turned into friendships along the way. Visiting colleges and universities all over Scotland, Karen has met some lovely people and hopes to continue to do so as Wagstaff are now approved suppliers on the APUC framework for Sustainable Furniture. Over her 30-year career, Karen has won and been involved in some fantastic projects mainly within the further and higher education sector, working with University of Dundee, University of Edinburgh, Fife College, Heriot Watt University and Edinburgh Napier University to name a few. One of her favourite projects is the University of Strathclyde’s Technology & Innovation Centre, delivering 9 floors of high-end furniture from manufacturers such as NaughtOne Humanscale KI Vitra. Seeing a project from start to finish is the most exciting part of her job. Starting with an empty space and working with various people to establish the correct furniture and finishes, create layouts, provide a flawless installation, and to see the client’s reaction at the end result is extremely rewarding. Karen has great knowledge of furniture manufacturers and can easily identify most ranges - if not, she has been known to turn over the odd table or chair to find a label when out and about, much to the embarrassment of her teenage son! In her spare time, Karen is happiest spending time with family, friends and her 17-year-old son Evan. Her favourite 4-leg member of the family is Benji, her sister’s Labradoodle who she will ‘borrow’ and have come to stay whenever she can!  

The newest member of the Wagstaff Interiors Group - Scotland team, we are delighted to introduce Joanne Smith. Joanne brings over 25 years of experience within the commercial interiors, furniture, and fit-out industry. Her career began as a company receptionist, and through her dedication and passion, she worked her way through various roles, including administration, showroom manager, and ultimately, account management and sales consultant. Throughout her career, Joanne has worked with a diverse range of organisations, from small start-ups to large corporations, including Aegon, Student Loans, and leading universities such as the University of Edinburgh, University of Dundee, and University of Aberdeen. She has also collaborated with major contractors like McLaughlin & Harvey to support furniture packages on large-scale projects. Known for her hands-on approach, Joanne is passionate about her work, and her commitment is evident in the way she interacts with both clients and suppliers. She loves to see projects through from start to finish, paying attention to every minute detail. A recent standout project in her career was the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at Coventry University, where she worked closely with the client's architect to deliver fixed and loose furnishings across three buildings from leading designers like Boss Design, New Design | Group: Contract Furniture, and Ocee & Four Design. When she’s not working, Joanne is busy running after her four kids and loves going to music festivals with them—especially when her husband’s playing!

Half way through our Scotland team introductions. Next up is Andrew Simpson. Andrew has over 15 years experience in the furniture industry and the ever changing product landscape still continues to excite and inspire him. Andrew enjoys supporting his clients and designers with furniture specification and is highly skilled at sourcing the right product, with his in-depth knowledge of furniture and industry trends. At Wagstaff he's delivered a number of successful major projects, including a £5m HQ for a national hire firm, government offices, and luxury hotels. He particularly enjoys working with innovative manufacturers such as Modus | B Corp™ and Orangebox . One of his personal all-time favourite pieces of furniture is the Eames lounge chair from Vitra, which he's still saving up for! Away from work, Andrew is kept busy by his little ones and loves nothing more than cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
