Ege Carpets Lego Showroom Event 👾 Yesterday, we had a fantastic time at our Ege Carpets showroom event! After almost 50 years, we've said goodbye to the iconic Ege Carpets chimney in Herning! This marks the start of a new era for us, as we switch a large part of our production from gas to renewable electricity. It's a turning point in our drive towards greater environmental responsibility. ♻️ By switching from gas to electricity at our main production sites in Denmark, we will reduce our CO2 emissions by 40%, a reduction of 1,500 tonnes per year. 📉 We have also just published our 2023/2024 ESG report, which you can read here: https://lnkd.in/eH93MXDG

Ege Carpets’ ESG report 2023/2024 is out! We’re beyond excited to share, that our brand new ESG report is now published. From the report, you’ll learn how Ege Carpets have joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and thus, based on our benchmark emissions in 2019, have committed to reduce Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions by 50.6% by 2030. By investing heavily in switching from natural gas to electricity, we’ll reduce production-related CO2 emissions by more than 40%. Drawing inspiration from our SHE collection, which pays homage to female artists, participants translated memories shared with an important woman in their lives into colourful woven carpets. We want to thank everyone who entered our competition by sharing pictures of your final pieces alongside the touching stories behind them. Your creativity and your memories truly impressed and moved us. We are delighted to announce that the winners are Poppy Collins and Fiona Hull! Check out the highlights from the dismantling of our 63-meter-high chimney At Ege Carpets, we’ve transitioned from gas to electricity in our production. This transition means that our large chimney has become redundant, and it was therefore removed Tuesday morning. By switching from gas to electricity, we are taking a crucial step towards more sustainable production. This change contributes to a significant reduction of our annual CO2 emissions by nearly 1500 tons - equivalent to 40 percent of our total emissions. Although the chimney has been removed, its remnants live on with a new purpose. The materials are being reused for art installations, so the chimney remains a part of Ege Carpets' history in a new and creative way. #EgeCarpets #Sustainability #Innovation #GreenTransition #Environment
