Today marks Time to Talk Day, an initiative by the Mind and Rethink Mental Illness Charities encouraging friends, families, communities and workplaces to come together to talk, listen and change lives.   Whether it's work-related stress or personal worries, whatever big or small, the power of an environment where people are comfortable to speak up cannot be understated.   That's why we're passionate about reinforcing today's message throughout the year, by providing:   ▪️ A confidential Employee Assistance Program ▪️ Mental Health First Aiders for guidance and support ▪️ Free access to Headspace for employees and their families ▪️ Continuously encouraging positive wellbeing through our wellbeing committee initiatives and other benefits   We want our people to feel empowered not to suffer in silence. We recently welcomed #ANDYSMANCLUB to our Leeds office for this very purpose, and we look forward to bringing this to Newcastle and Manchester in the next few months, too.   It's #TimeToTalk.

We are proud to support The Giving Network in 2025 and to celebrate their achievements at Newcastle Cathedral last night!   An initiative headed up by the Community Foundation serving Tyne & Wear and Northumberland, The Giving Network connects like-minded professionals with vital local causes. It encourages charitable giving and incentivises it through matched funding, with members engaging directly with the charities one-on-one.   It provides a platform for local people doing amazing work in their communities to tell their powerful stories. Members can then pool their support into causes of their choosing, with their donations matched by the Foundation for the first three years up to a maximum of £1,000 per year.   As part of our long-standing commitment to be a good and responsible corporate citizen, we have seen many times the power of giving and philanthropy. We have seen first-hand how The Giving Network not only encourages and incentivises the act of giving, but also the process of getting much closer to the charities involved.   Last night, Nick Gholkar, Executive Partner for our Newcastle office, gave a speech as The Giving Network came together to celebrate and reflect on its achievements and the organisations that have been supported since 2018.   We really look forward to playing our part and being an active advocate of the work of the Foundation and The Giving Network.

We're recruiting an Administration Assistant to join our Plot Sales team in Newcastle. Along with general administrative work, as part of the role you will be responsible for processing pre-sale instructions, including issuing draft contracts to the purchaser's Solicitors and photocopying completed transaction forms and search results, submitting searches on part-exchange files, reviewing the receipt of the results, as well as submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax Forms and Land Registry applications. Today, Imogen Wegg, Solicitor in our Commercial Dispute Resolution team delivered a trolley full of feminine hygiene products, cosmetics and toiletries, kindly donated by our people in the Newcastle office, to East End Women. East End Women is a local organisation providing support to women in Newcastle's East End by: ▪️ Creating safe community spaces ▪️ Offering critical early interventions ▪️ Providing opportunities for women to connect and grow Dawn, pictured, was over the moon with the donation and the positive impact it will make to users of the project.
