European food safety has taken a new turn with the planned phase-out of smoky bacon-flavoured crisps. This decision, taken by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), is a proactive measure to protect consumers from potential genotoxicity linked to certain food flavourings, which could elevate cancer risks. Given the nature of these risks, the EFSA has found it challenging to establish a safe consumption level. Hence, this phased ban, which will roll out over the coming years. On August 16, more than 60 team members from various offices rose to the formidable Edale Skyline Challenge to raise funds for our office charities. This challenge, a 24 mile/38 km circular ridge walk, takes participants across some of the Peak District's most scenic hilltops. Our brave hikers climbed a total height of roughly 1,600m/5,272 ft, all within a 12-hour window. As a firm we have raised £20,470.24 so far for our office charities, what a fantastic achievement, we could not be prouder of Team Weightmans! This achievement truly exemplifies our #SeeThePossiblity mindset. #CSR #Edale #Charitywork
