Here’s a few highlights of just some of the events and activities that our WP community enjoyed over August 🌞 🫖 We celebrated Yorkshire Day the right way, by giving away 30 Yorkshire Tea bundles including a mug and tea bags so the lucky winners could have a proper brew on us! 🎪 Our latest, open-to-all summer market series went down a treat, bringing plenty of new footfall to the WP site whilst giving local businesses a platform to thrive and engage directly with the local community. 🏓 Things got serious in our latest Beat the Coach tournament… WP residents battled it out to beat Ping Pong Pete and win a customised ping pong paddle along with a £30 Decathlon voucher. 📚 We welcomed community members young and old into Wellington Central to celebrate the power of poetry with a session catered to smaller writers in the morning followed by another for older, more seasoned wordsmiths in the afternoon. 🚮 The WP community have fully embraced the Scandinavian keep-fit litter picking sensation that is Plogging! Having run to a local litter hotspot, our community quickly got to work giving the area some much needed love whilst working out and getting to know each other too! Last week we hosted a Plogging session (that’s litter picking and jogging for those of you not familiar with the Swedish pastime) for the Wellington Place community to get active and clean up Leeds in their lunch break 🏃♀️ We’re proud to have partnered with Litter Free Leeds, a local initiative ran by Leeds City Council,  to be a designated purple bag carrier. This means that anyone in Leeds can head into Wellington Central and borrow our litter pickers and purple bags for a litter picking session of their own!  Want to get involved? Introducing the latest addition to our neighbourhood… Saffery! 🎉 Saffery, one of the UK's longest standing firms of chartered accountants and business advisers, is expanding into Leeds with a new 5,213 sq ft office at 10 Wellington Place. The newly fitted out Grade A office space will house all Saffery’s well-established Yorkshire services, which include audit and accounting, corporate tax and VAT, business advisory and personal tax, in a spacious, modern and open plan environment. Fayre in the Square returns this weekend! 🎉 We pride ourselves on bringing together the very best local makers, independent businesses and rising creative talents in order to celebrate everything our community has to offer. Award nomination for 11 & 12 Wellington Place! 🥳 We are excited to share that 11&12 WP has been named as a finalist in the Property Week ESG EDGE Awards, in the 'New-Build Project of the Year – Large' category. The 228,986 sq ft. office space, developed by MEPC Limited combines sustainability with modern design, setting a new standard for greener workspaces. The buildings are fully electric and net zero in operation, with a two-star Fitwel score which recognises commitment to designing buildings which are both good for the environment and for the health of occupants. They were also the first outside of London to achieve a NABERS Designed Reviewed Target Rating of Five Stars or above. It is fantastic to be shortlisted in this joint entry with architects on the project tp bennett, in a category which showcases environmental responsibility. Fingers crossed for the ceremony!
