🌟 Another incredible week at NCG West Lancashire College! 🌟 Exciting news! West Lancashire College is officially starting its e-sports journey! 🎮 Jules Halder and Wendy Bennett recently met with Kalam Neale, Head of Education at e-sports, to plan the development of an engaging e-sports curriculum. This will give us the opportunity to equip students with essential leadership skills, develop employability skills, and will benefit the campus by having a dedicated e-sports room right here at WLC! We were also thrilled to welcome Megan from UA92 Global and Niamh from Edge Hill University to campus this week. They provided essential support for our students in the UCAS application process, helping them take important steps toward their futures. 📚 On Tuesday, we attended Kirkby High School’s Career Fair, where we spoke with young people about the opportunities in our post-16 school leaver courses. It’s always a privilege to help students explore their next steps! 💼 Our Level 3 Year 2 and Level 1 Uniformed Public Services students embraced the great outdoors in the Forest of Bowland for an orienteering exercise. They sharpened their compass and map skills, communication, teamwork, and leadership—an amazing experience that truly brought learning to life! 🌲🧭 Finally, we had a fantastic meeting with Mary Henshaw from Our Lady Queen of Peace. Together, we’re excited to explore new work experience and partnership opportunities to support young people across West Lancashire and Skelmersdale. 🤝 So grateful for everyone’s hard work and passion this week. This partnership not only supports technical learning but also empowers students to engage with industry experts and get a feel for the practical applications of sustainable transportation.
