It was great to see our Newlands Park scheme in the sunshine last week as the project gets close to the completion of Phase 1. It has been fascinating bringing this promenant logistic building to life and witnessing it literally rise out of the landscape. It will be interesting to revisit when the setting has matured over the coming months and years allowing the building to nestle back into the rolling landscape. The combination of materials, textures and detailing really help to elevate the built form. We are excited to share that alongside Bridges Fund Management Ltd. we have acquired a 6.5 acre site in Letchworth to develop a £50m logistics hub. This marks the JV's 5th acquisition, with a total value of over £300m. The scheme comprises three units totalling 130,000 sq ft and will target EPC A+ and BREEAM Outstanding. The site was purchased from Tesco and Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation. Thanks to Ian Hall & Ben Fairhurst who acted for Tesco and to Mark Coles at LGCHF. Shout out also to Hugh Walton at Savills who introduced the site and provided occupational advice. Forsters LLP as always were a pleasure to work with on the purchase.
