We are excited to share the final report on the feasibility of developing tidal power in the Severn Estuary, a project we've been deeply involved in alongside Western Gateway and the Severn Estuary Commission. Our team was initially appointed in 2023 to review existing evidence and develop a framework for the Commission, which launched in March 2024 with us as the Technical Advisor.    Our Earth and Environment team played a crucial role in assessing the environmental implications of this tidal power project, collaborating closely with the Environmental Commissioners. We’re thrilled to extend our Transport and Engineering Professional Services Contract with Torbay Council for another three years, through to April 2028! As Torbay continues its journey through devolution and urban transformation, we’re proud to provide expert support across transport planning, highway design, and property & development advisory. Our partnership has expanded to align with the Council’s £500m regeneration vision, including 700 new homes and major infrastructure projects. Recently, we’ve also been awarded a direct commission to deliver a £20m Waste Transfer Station and Household Recycling Centre. This extension reflects the trust we’ve built through local expertise and global technical support, ensuring value for money and seamless service for the communities of Brixham, Paignton, and Torquay. #WeAreWSP #Transport #Communities #Regeneration

We’re excited to support the European Commission in a pioneering initiative to help businesses transition away from hazardous substances! As part of this pilot project, we’re working with RI:SE, Green Chemical Design, Green Rose Chemistry, and Wyeside Consulting to research and test options for a future EU-wide network of chemical substitution centres. These centres will provide crucial support—particularly for SMEs—by identifying safer, more sustainable alternatives to hazardous chemicals. With growing recognition from the European Parliament of the need for greater industry support, this initiative will play a vital role in driving innovation and improving safety and sustainability across sectors. WSP in the UK has been appointed as a highways infrastructure support partner for Wirral Council! 🎉 Over the next three years, we’ll work closely with the Council’s highway team, providing technical support across the entire project lifecycle of key Infrastructure projects. Our expertise will cover Highways, Transportation, Geotechnical, Drainage, Bridges, Streetlighting, Contract Management, and Procurement, with delivery led from our Liverpool office, which we re-opened last year and is now an important hub for over 170 colleagues. 🚧 We’re excited to build on our existing long-standing collaboration with the Council, helping shape its transport strategy and supporting key regeneration projects like Hind Street Urban Village. #WeAreWSP #Infrastructure #Highways

We are thrilled to attend MIPIM 2025 and excited to have partnered with Place North for this incredible event to showcase our revolutionary kit-of-parts approach! We're applying this approach on several projects around the world to accelerate delivery, increase productivity, and improve quality and sustainability — creating more value for clients, much quicker. We aim to deliver a new, innovative way of working that drives efficiency across the built environment. It was great to hear Dale Sinclair, Head of Digital Innovation, share his insights from projects including Manchester Airport and the Environment Agency's depot programme, and discuss the need to shift from single projects to programmes to fully leverage the benefits of offsite manufacturing.
