Our Customer Annual Report is now out and covers the key highlights of the year. We are proud to be 100% compliant in all our legal obligations, and we saw our overall customer satisfaction rise again (and it went up again following our TSMs this year!) But, we also know we have changes we must continue to make, and #TeamYHG remains committed and determined to do what's needed for all our residents. You can't do what we do without caring, and we believe that a safe place to call home is what everyone deserves. https://ow.ly/okPK50TXuV7 #UKHousing #AnnualReport

"We'd like to wish them the best of luck in building the first foyer in Asia and hope we can build a strong partnership going forward.” The words of our Young People Services Manager, Andy Ward, following a visit to our foyers from Hong Kong-based community organisation, Side By Side. They travelled over 5,000 miles to see how we do it at #TeamYHG 🏠 Read more https://ow.ly/CjvM50TUxqi #YouMatter #SupportedHousing #Foyers

It's not for anyone to talk about what it's like living in someone else's shoes, but we can strive to educate ourselves, deepen our understanding and compassion, and develop admiration for those whose journeys we previously didn't know much about. That's why for this #BlackHistoryMonth we've spent time learning about just a few inspiring and glass-ceiling-breaking black Britons. From the first black bus driver, to a qualified doctor who despite being top of his class, couldn't get a job in the early part of the 20th century...learning their names, appreciating their significance and knowing that without these, and all trailblazers, some doors would have remained closed much longer for men and women of colour in this country. - Ignatius Sancho - Mary Seacole - Dr Harold Moody - Joe Clough - Dame Jocelyn Barrow - Margaret Busby - Lilian Bader - Asquith Xavier #TeamYHG cares about everyone, respects the need for continued change, and we will keep learning.

Huge thanks to TheBusinessDesk.com and Michael Taylor for inviting our CEO Jacque Allen CIHCM to the Residential-led Regeneration Roundtable today. Great to hear from such a wide variety of important voices in the social housing space on how we can revolutionise regeneration to offer more people a safe place to call home. Some real food for thought on people first regeneration strategies and how it's vital we ensure we are creating communities not just properties. It was a pleasure to be a part of the conversation.

Some of our colleagues took part in a walk and talk session last week and shared what they like to do to boost their mental wellbeing. There was a common theme in their answers – exercising and fresh air, which is why these sessions are so important to incorporate into work life where possible to help maintain good mental wellbeing. Today, on Mental Health Awareness Day, more of our colleagues will be taking a short walk together around a local park to take time away from their desks and connect with one another. #MentalHealthAwarenessDay #TeamYHG Donna Ridings, CMIOSH Duncan Boydell Vicki Dermody (nee Heyes) Clare Oakley (LLM, ACIS) Jen Hartshorn MCIPS Neil Wilmer Shabana Hameed Ian Thomson MRICs, MCIH, Jacque Allen CIHCM Dean Slavin

Today was our sixth High-Rise Forum, where we host residents who live in one of our high-rise homes. Although we hold these every six months, today's was particularly key as we discussed the second phase of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry which again highlighted some of the vital and crucial changes that need to be made to ensure that a tragedy like this never happens again. We are, and will continue to be committed to ensuring more people have a safe place to call home by enhancing fire safety measures in all our buildings, as well as keeping people informed about their own fire evacuation plans and building safety knowledge. Thank you as always to our amazing translator who does a ‘as-it-happens’ translation of the event for our Cantonese-speaking residents. #TeamYHG #HighRiseBuildings #HighRiseLiving #BuildingSafety

Last week, we hosted ProcurePlus at our Warrington HQ for an event to raise awareness of the new Procurement Act and what the changes mean for the housing industry and our suppliers. The event brought more of a personal touch as we heard from registered providers about the realities of the changes and what they mean to those dealing with them every day. We had speakers from a variety of providers including @Torus, Clarion Housing Group, Your Housing Group, CHESHIRE PEAKS & PLAINS HOUSING TRUST LIMITED & plains as well as Devonshires who gave us the legal side of things. This can only help to drive innovation and value for money, something which we know is key in the industry right now. In the lead up to Your Colleague Conference 2024, colleagues from across #TeamYHG worked together to prepare for our annual business-wide event. This year we were able to host 1,000 colleagues across three locations by live-streaming the conference where our Exec Team shared more about our three-year corporate plan, which will ensure that more people have a safe place to call home. Special thanks to our ICT, Facilities, and Marketing and Communications teams, as well as our conference steering group who worked together to make the event a huge success! #TeamYHG

Great day yesterday (despite the typical September weather) taking two of our newest board members Lee Sugden and Matt Cooper around some of our amazing new developments delivering towards our Strategic Partnership pledge to Homes England. We met our partners WESTCHURCH HOMES LIMITED at Century Mill in Farnworth and Lovell Partnerships Ltd at Edgefield Green in Openshaw. All of these sites show our passion for delivering the highest quality properties with a mix of tenure types ensuring that the North-West is leading the way in delivering on the need for more social housing in the UK.
