Scary web server usage charts from our load tests yesterday 😅😱 We're in the process of making sure our client's site doesn't crash during their passage on Dragons' Den 🐉 later this week. We are super excited to be part of their journey and to help them deliver the best experience and performance for their site. 3 things we've learnt optimising the servers for performance and load: ✅ A good architecture is worth more than adding CPU and RAM - use load balancers to distribute the load and rely on a lot of smaller instances rather than a big one subject to failure ✅ Start small and then increase server capacity when needed - consider splitting the tasks running on the servers and using different instance types as some tasks will be more CPU or RAM intensive ✅ Run load tests - load testing tools allow you to run concurrent requests over a period of time to simulate a lot of traffic on your site 🌟 When running load tests, try to avoid doing it on your live site until you are fully confident it won't break (that being said, YOLO 😂) Finally, when possible, make a long term plan and automate 🤖 as much as possible to future-proof your infrastructure! #ecommerce #performance #loadtesting
