Today is #EarthOvershootDay. This is the day when our use of the Earth's natural resources for the year surpasses what the planet can regenerate in that same year. Can you believe that for the UK this date was 3rd June? There are many actions we can all take to help reduce our ecological footprint, promote sustainable practices and #movethedate. Some of the things we encourage at Zen, include: - #Reduce, #reuse, #recycle - Energy efficiency - Cycle to work days - Support sustainable practices such as buying from companies that prioritise sustainability such as #BCorps - Make a positive impact on your local community through volunteer days. Our environmental steering group recently went around our office grounds and beyond litter picking. This is an activity many teams from across the business regularly particupate in. Great for team building and also gives participants a sense of accomplishment.

In other words, in just 7 months, humanity used what Earth takes 12 months to regenerate. There is immense #PowerOfPossibility in the countless existing solutions that #MoveTheDate. With them, we can make ourselves more resilient and #MoveTheDate. At Zen, we are acutely aware of our environmental responsibility. Funding is tricky in the Alt-Net world, but that’s not dampening Matthew Hare’s ambition to build Zzoomm into a 1 million+ premises passed Alt-Net, despite the company halting all new build and laying off staff. Acquisition/merger is the key, Matthew tells me, and although he doesn’t share specific details, it’s clear he sees Zzoomm doing well from the Big Alt-Net Consolidation.
