Great day at the annual LaingBuisson #PrivateAcute Conference yesterday. Lots of talk about outcomes as usual, both on the stage, and amongst delegates. Dr Ian Gargan from Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN): - “the panacea for outcomes measurement for all of UK healthcare” as he described NHS England Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) "Outcome Registries Platform (ORP)" that aims to bring 300+ registries together for the first time from next year (and link #NHS and private healthcare data) Joanne Buckle from Milliman: - "Insurers routinely measure access, renewals, complaints…but it’s patchy, not at scale, & mostly focussed on process & experience, not patient outcomes” And Ted Townsend from the conference stage of course: - "Where is Tim Williams, is he here? All this talk of outcomes must be music to his ears..." Very much so, Ted, very much. So much more to do, but we're getting there! #PROMs #VBHC 🎶🎶🎶😅
