🌎🎓 Students at our Instant Network Schools (INS) will be learning vital problem-solving skills through a brand new life skills course. Due to abrupt changes in their circumstances, young refugees can often face challenges around their sense of identity and purpose. Working with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, the INS Life Skills Course is designed to build essential psychosocial and interpersonal skills, from critical thinking to creativity, respect for diversity and empathy. 🤔 By developing these skills, young refugees strengthen their ability to navigate school, work, and society successfully. #InstantNetworkSchools #VodafoneFoundation #UNHCR

🆘 Our life-saving NG-SOS apps are now connected to Finland's emergency number, 112, marking a significant step in improving the safety of app users abroad. This means millions of app users from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria and Slovakia can now access emergency rescue and support during their trips to Finland. At the click of a button, the app provides the most accurate information about the caller, by sending their location and medical profile to the local emergency services. Worryingly, 59% of children in Europe are still lacking access to digital devices, resulting in a growing AI skills gap. 🎓❗ This week saw the release of the findings from our new 'The Growing Role of AI in Education' report, which shows that the integration of AI and digital tools in schools in now at tipping point. ❗Our new research highlights a worrying 'AI skills gap' across Europe, thought to be the result of a digital skills shortage amongst teachers, and a lack of focus on AI in schools and education policy. 74% of the 7,000 children surveyed believed that AI would play a significant role in their professional lives - but less than half felt adequately prepared by their schools to engage with this new technology. From making their own soap to understanding abstract concepts, more students are getting involved in science thanks to the dedication of teachers at Instant Network Schools (INS). 🙌👩🔬 By integrating INS technology into their lessons, teachers have been able to use video clips to help explain scientific concepts and demonstrate practical experiments. Our Tozi team had the pleasure of chatting to attendees at the BT Young Scientist event in Ireland, helping to raise awareness of our Tozi app and how it is helping to create a safer and more positive experience online for young people. Sadly, as many as 1 in 10 children have been affected by cyberbullying, while 45% of teenagers have witnessed some kind of mistreatment online. 🙁 Through our Tozi app, we are connecting young people to top tips, advice and support. 📱 Tozi is now available in Ireland and Portugal via the App Store and Google Play.
