We’d like to say a massive thank you to Zurich Community Trust for their continued support of Caring in Bristol. We recently received a grant for our youth food project, Bristol Youth Goods, which will enable young people at risk of homelessness to access healthy, affordable food, and learn about healthy cooking habits. Zurich’s support means that we can continue to provide crucial advice, resources, and guidance they need to build a future they want and deserve. We would also like to recognise the value-added support from Mark Flay and his team giving us access to free relevant training to help us continue to grow and strengthen our impact in the community. Thank you! 💙 #YouthHomelessness #FoodInsecurity #Bristol

    Marketing Apprentice at Zurich UK

Zurich Community Trust - Summer Challenge Last week the Marketing & Customer Communication team's completed a ZCT challenge for a local primary school in Swindon. We organised a team day makeover for their nursery and reception playgrounds, to give the kids a renewed colourful space to play in time for back to school! We focused on the wooden structures and pastel colours and also some DIY of turning tyres to planters. Me and the team had an amazing time working together and are really hopeful this will have a positive impact on the school 🥰 Huge thank you to Abbie Thompson and Jessie M., for organising this with me, couldn't have done it without you! Also an honorary shoutout to Gemma Yates and Luke Underhill for sacrificing their car boot to bring the supplies! #zctchallenge Mark Flay

'Oink' your marks... get set.... VOLUNTEER! That's just what Team Leader, Amanda Sayers, and her fellow team members did for their Challenge community project with Bristol Dementia Action Alliance (BDAA) in early July. Amanda said; "Despite a last minute change of venue due to the thunderstorms, the BDAA Happy Days Summer Fair on 5th July was a great success! With pig racing (yes you read that correctly - although my Percy 🐷 never seemed to win!), a tombola, a challenge to get those senses going, a plant stall with cake and singing entertainment to finish - the smiles from the photos say it all 😊. Thank you to Mark Flay and Sarah Roberts for their support on the day. Looking forward to the Festive event with BDAA already!" Massive thanks to Amanda, Sarah and Mark for creating such a fun and memorable day for all those who attended from the BDAA family! 💙 #SummerChallenge2024 #EmployeeVolunteering #BristolDementiaActionAlliance #PigRacing #LotsofLaughs #LotsofSmiles

Chief Executive Officer, UK at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd

Swindon holds a special place in my heart both personally and professionally. Having grown up in the town and started my career as a graduate here with Zurich, it gives me great pride to welcome Swindon’s two newly appointed MPs, Heidi Alexander (Swindon South) and Will Stone (Swindon North) to our Unity Place office for the first time today. Unity Place opened in 2023 and is home to over 1,000 employees, 70% of which live in the local area. It’s also a key hub for our apprentices with 17 joining us from the area last year. Our Swindon office has always been, and continues to be, a hugely important part of our business. We look forward to continuing to work closely with the local government to support the regeneration of the town centre. Thank you to Susanna Jones for joining us to talk about the great work of Swindon Carers Centre and the importance of our support through the Zurich Community Trust

At the end of June, a team of Zurich Resilience Solutions Engineers, went 'Wild for Wildfowl' for their charity volunteering day! It was a very long warm day for the team as they worked hard on the outside area of local charity, Suffolk & Essex Small Animal Welfare (SESAW). Team leader, Karl Harvey, said; "It was fantastic team work. We split into two groups - the first group dug, lined and filled a pond for the ducks. The second group concentrated on painting 100ft of 6ft fence panels forest green. I'm really proud of everyone for working so hard in the heat. We managed to complete everything the charity asked for in order to further support the animals they rehome. Watching the ducks swim around in their new pond made it all worthwhile! Massive thanks to the whole team for a really special day and for the generous donations worth £260. We'd also like to give a special mention, and thanks, to Ben Wainman and Cheryl Evans, for making it possible for us to purchase 75 litres of forest green fence treatment, some 3" brushes, a pond liner and underlay!" #Challenge2024 #CommunityVolunteering #GivingBack #ZurichEngineers

Back in May, Zurich UK employees, Jen Maddock and Kuljeet Ubhi, took part in the 2024 RideLondon, to raise money for the Zurich Community Trust. Their challenge was far from easy - cycling 100 miles through tough weather conditions with wind and rain (and very occasional sunshine!). Nonetheless, This didn't stop them! They persevered with the pedaling and cycled past famous London landmarks, through rural Essex, finally crossing that finish line at Tower Bridge. Together with matching, they raised over £1,900, to help support our wonderful charity partners. A huge 'Thank you' to both of you - it's the dedication and commitment shown by supporters, like you, that make our community support possible! If you're interested in being a member of our cycle team in 2025, please get in touch with our UK Fundraising Manager, Kerry Chambers 💙 #RideLondon #ZCTFundraising #CycleChallenge #YouSmashedIt #ThankYou

🌟 Our Summer Challenge volunteering projects are in full swing! 🌟 Some of our Zurich UK Risk Engineers were all hands to the pump (or should that be paintbrushes and wheelbarrows?!) when visiting Leeds local charity, Meanwood Valley Urban Farm at the start of June. Two teams were split between two tasks - one team outside giving them a garden glow up, and the other giving the toilet facilities a much-needed facelift. With over 15,000 steps navigated through wheelbarrow runs and a quick thinking paint swap for the breeze block walls - the charity were delighted with the results! Challenge team member, Dan Smith, said; "It was really rewarding and after all that hard work, it was worth it for a job well done - it felt like we were experiencing a day in the life of the DIY SOS team! It was also great to meet up with colleagues new and old, including retirees Bradley Clarke and Robert Foggitt, along with Bradley’s son, James, who was a great help too." Massive thanks to Michael Long - Team Leader, Dan Smith, Chris Winter, Helen Hayes, Harry Small, Ahmeth Nawaz, Steve Arundale, Jason Murray, Bradley Clarke EngTech TIFireE, James Clarke and Robert Foggitt. #ChallengeVolunteering2024 #RiskEngineeringTeam #MeanwoodValleyUrbanFarm
