The ozone layer, located high in the Earth’s stratosphere, acts as a shield, absorbing and filtering out harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. Without it, life on Earth would face severe consequences. 🌍A Brief History of the Ozone Layer: The ozone layer was discovered in the 1980s to be thinning due to human-made chemicals such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). This led to the creation of the Montreal Protocol in 1987, a landmark agreement aimed at phasing out substances that deplete the ozone layer. Thanks to global cooperation, the ozone layer is on the path to recovery. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 is "Montreal Protocol: Advancing Climate Action". The Montreal Protocol not only addresses ozone depletion but also contributes to climate action by reducing greenhouse gasses. 👉 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿: 🍃Avoid Harmful Gases: Steer clear of products that release ozone-depleting substances into the atmosphere.
