As part of #AmericanArtistAppreciationMonth this August, we invite you to meet the faces behind 4A Arts! Having overcome the latent Hollywood and Broadway star fantasies of her youth, 4A Arts Development Manager Katherine Lander has dedicated herself to arts and culture administration on both coasts and in her native Kentucky. As a fundraiser, she has advanced numerous art forms including theatre, jazz, and public media, and indulges a passion for education as adjunct faculty with the Arts Administration program at the University of KY. #4AArts #ArtsWorkers #ArtsCultureDesignAndCraft #ArtsEcosystem #FacesOf4A

As part of #AmericanArtistAppreciationMonth this August, we invite you to meet the faces behind 4A Arts! 4A Arts Director of Strategic Operations Elena K. Holy (@ElenaFringeNYC) is a star in both the theater and management worlds! After being awarded the inaugural “Outstanding Dedication to the Arts” award in high school and producing one of Dallas’ first ever productions of HAIR on the campus of Southern Methodist University, it’s not surprising Elena went on to found The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), which she produced for more than 20 years prior to bringing her stellar experience to 4A Arts! #4AArts #ArtsWorkers #ArtsCultureDesignAndCraft #ArtsEcosystem #FacesOf4A

Judy Chicago's "The Dinner Party" was more than an artwork, it was a statement. This pioneering piece shook the foundations of a male-led art world, spotlighting women's art and history. Not only did it play a key role in the feminist art movement, but it continues to inspire generations of artists and activists to honor and commemorate the role women have played throughout history. @Judy.Chicago #AmericanArtistAppreciationMonth #4AArts #MakersGonnaMake #ArtsCultureDesignAndCraft #TheDinnerParty #JudyChicago Images: - Installation, Judy chicago, dinner party, 2016. As part of #AmericanArtistAppreciationMonth this August, we invite you to meet the faces behind 4A Arts! After being bitten by the performance bug at her hometown community theater in Harrodsburg, KY, 4A Arts Director of Messaging Whitney S. Christiansen went on to teach English and drama to the next generation of teens and tweens. After a decade teaching public school, she pivoted to arts research, receiving her Master of Arts Leadership from Colorado State University before joining 4A Arts, where she merges her love of storytelling with her obsession with spreadsheets. #4AArts #ArtsWorkers #ArtsCultureDesignAndCraft #ArtsEcosystem #FacesOf4A

As part of #AmericanArtistAppreciationMonth this August, we invite you to meet the faces behind 4A Arts! We know that our arts ecosystem relies not just on the work of artists, but on the arts workers and advocates who support them, like our Executive Director, Gavin Lodge. Having benefitted from arts education programs, a children's theatre group, and supportive family, Gavin indulged performing aspirations by performing in five Broadway shows and a few "don't-blink-or-you'll-miss-him" guest star spots on network TV. Prior to performing, he was a political organizer for a U.S. Presidential and a U.S. Senate race, meaning 4A Arts's initiative "Organizing for the Arts" - (O4A) is a perfect marriage of his passions of grassroots organizing and the arts. #4AArts #ArtsWorkers #ArtsCultureDesignAndCraft #ArtsEcosystem #FacesOf4A

Gordon Parks' "American Gothic" is more than just a photograph. It's an everlasting symbol of racial injustice that triggered profound change and shook up a nation. His striking reinterpretation of Grant Wood's famous painting "American Gothic" comments on the American experience for African Americans, especially Black women at the time. @GordonParksFoundation #AmericanArtistAppreciationMonth #4AArts #MakersGonnaMake #ArtsCultureDesignAndCraft #SocialJustice #GordonParks #AmericanGothic All images courtesy of Wikimedia Commons. - Photograph, American Gothic, 1942.
