On Monday, July 29th Partnership with Children alongside Children’s Defense Fund National Freedom Schools programs celebrated the 2nd annual Justice for Our Youth (JOY) Day event at Betsy Head Park in Brownsville. News 12 Brooklyn came by to highlight our Freedom School kids ages 5 to 11 years filling the basketball courts with singing, dancing, and poetry reading to spread the message of ending gun violence and nurturing a loving community. With special guest speaker Senator Roxanne Persaud, the 2nd annual JOY day further helped our students feel safe and encourage them to enjoy spaces meant for them to play in. In honor of #EarthDay and Financial Literacy Month, I'm excited to share about Citi's #TeachChildrenToSave Campaign to help grades K-8 learn good savings habits at an early stage in life. In conjunction with Partnership with Chidren and BloomAgainBrooklyn, we offered a unique workshop for students at PS 298 in Brooklyn. We reviewed Living Green, Saving Green #ABA content to demonstrate ways to save money and the environment. It was a perfect segue to introduce the flowers from BLOOMAGAINBKLYN that are upcycled to reduce waste. The children also learned about altruism and the importance of giving back through the creation of bouquets to be gifted to people in their family, school faculty, and the broader community. Pictures cannot convey how special we all felt. #Citi #CommunityRelations #AmericanBankersAssociation #LivingGreenSavingGreen #TeachChildrenToSave #ABAFoundation #PartnershipwithChildren #BloomAgainBrooklyn Annie Cleary Kate Selengia
