A Place Called Home supports the youth and families of South Central Los Angeles by providing a wide range of resources. Their holistic approach aims to deeply impact the community and empower the next generation to lead healthy, productive lives while making positive contributions locally and globally. Every day, A Place Called Home offers a safe, nurturing, and creative space for hundreds of youth aged 8-24. Through various programs in arts, athletics, education, and wellness, young individuals engage in activities like homework assistance, tutoring, art classes, dance, theater, music, and sports, among others. They also develop essential life skills through mentoring, social enterprise projects, and civic engagement initiatives. A Place Called Home emphasizes healthy living through its community gardens, well-equipped kitchen, fresh meal service, distribution events, and annual health clinics held on-site.
