Since its inception in 2000, AACI Center for Survivors of Torture (CST) program has provided specialized services – including individual and group psychotherapy, psychiatry, psychological and medical evaluations for political asylum cases, medical, social, and legal services to more than 2,100 survivors of torture and their family members, as well as 2,800 newly arrived refugees from 74 countries. CST’s mission is to open a door to hope and healing by providing rehabilitative services to survivors of politically motivated torture and refugees. ❤️ As the Associate Director of AACI CST Program, Armina H. oversees daily operations and strategic direction, ensuring trauma-informed care for individuals who have experienced torture. Her role includes supervising a multidisciplinary team, managing program budgets and grants, and building partnerships with local, state, federal, and international organizations. Armina feels proud to be part of a team of people who share a deep commitment to compassion, justice, and healing. When asked about her outlook on the program, she says, "Together we honor CST's legacy and carry forward AACI's mission of improving the lives of individuals and families by providing high-quality, affordable health and human services to all. Every day, we reaffirm our dedication to serving the most vulnerable, advocating for human dignity, and offering the support necessary for people to rebuild their lives. As we look toward the future, I’m filled with both pride and optimism. Our shared mission continues to guide us, and I’m confident that we’ll make an even greater impact in the years to come." 🤩🌟 To learn more about AACI Center for Survivors of Torture (CST) Program, please visit https://lnkd.in/gZ6bxGbf. #aaci #cst #ourteam #ouraaciteam #aacicst #bh #behavioralhealth #50thaaciversary #50thanniversary

Yesterday, AACI had the amazing opportunity to connect with Microsoft Silicon Valley Campus employees at their 2nd Annual ERG Non-profit Tradeshow! 🤩 Our team spread the word about AACI's mission and programs, highlighting the significant impact that AACI has in the local community. Additionally, we shared AACI's 2024 Holiday Gift Card Drive and set up a card writing station for employees to write thoughtful holiday wishes for our youth! 🎁 Big shout out to Microsoft Bay Area Asians ERG for sponsoring AACI and thank you to all the Microsoft ERGs/employee networks for hosting this wonderful event. We were thrilled by the enthusiasm and interest from everyone who stopped by to learn more about our work and the various volunteer opportunities we offer. All of your support changes lives in our community! ❤️ #aaci #microsoft #erg #ergtradeshow #tradeshow #nonprofit #thankyou

Our "I Dare to Air" dress exhibit is traveling again! The IDTA exhibit consists of cultural dresses that belong to local domestic violence survivors along with real stories they've written to share their experiences with surviving abuse. When we read these stories, we learn that survivors exist in every community. Survivors need spaces where they feel safe, heard, and supported. 💜 We are building communities where we support survivors and resist violence. We are partnering with Bank of America once again, to recognize that domestic violence occurs in every culture and in many different forms, including financial abuse. Stay tuned for our next DVAM post all about what exactly financial abuse is, financial safety planning, and financial abuse prevention. If you, or someone you know, is in an abusive relationship, AACI can help support you with resources and a safety plan. Please call our free and confidential 24/7 crisis line: 408-975-2739 or visit SafeChatSV.org for more information. #aaci #awh #asianwomenshome #domesticviolenceawareness #dvawareness #dv #idaretoair #exhibit
