About us
The Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition (ACIBC) represents businesses that supply parts, equipment and services for the construction and maintenance of U.S. Navy aircraft carriers. Established in 2004, ACIBC seeks to preserve the strength of the aircraft carrier force and promote the value of the aircraft carrier industrial base as a vital part of the nation’s overall defense structure. ACIBC businesses provide all the valves, wiring, steel, motors and thousands of other parts that make these ships the preeminent expression of U.S. military power—capable of delivering overwhelming warfighting force around the globe. In total, more than 2,000 small, mid-sized and large businesses from 46 states, and 293 congressional districts, contribute parts, services and support to the construction and maintenance of U.S. Navy aircraft carriers. Great to see engagements like this, demonstrating the innovation and importance of the industrial base! We thank LOWEN Marine and Industrial, LLC for hosting the staff of Sen. John Fetterman, Sen. Bob Casey, and Rep. Fitzpatrick.
LOWEN Marine and Industrial, LLC was delighted to host representatives of Senators John Fetterman and Bob Casey, as well as Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick last week, at Harold Beck and Sons, Inc. at their manufacturing facility in Newtown, PA. LOWEN Marine and Industrial, LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (#SDVOSB), is a member of the Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition (#ACIBC) and have been communicating to both the In-Service and new acquisition Aircraft Carrier Programs as to how the Beck Electric Actuator can solve typical actuator maintenance issues, as well as reduce Total Ownership Costs. At this meeting, we highlighted the superior technology that is the Beck Electric Actuator, and the unrivaled product support and manufacturing capabilities that are evident with this vertically integrated company. Harold Beck and Sons, Inc. has developed a virtually maintenance-free valve and damper actuator after decades of engineering, as this company has focused solely on process control and actuator development since its founding in 1936. This unique and mature design has been recognized by engineers in the harshest industrial environments as the product of choice where reliability is paramount. We discussed our efforts to get this product onto US Navy vessels and the progress we have made to date. We requested assistance from the members of Congress in advocating for these Pennsylvania Small Businesses (#SmallBusiness) to their colleagues as to how this product can provide value to the US Navy and the taxpayer. Some discussion points included: - How the Beck Electric Actuator product line far exceeds the requirements of the Build America, Buy America Act (#BABA), and how to convey this to interested parties. - How the Supply Chain crisis had minimal impact due to the vertically integrated nature of this business - How Harold Beck and Sons, Rapid Response Process can produce any configuration of actuator within a 4-hour timeframe and specifically, how this could benefit the Fleet in addressing critical component failures if they were to occur - How Beck’s engineering of the military grade electronics includes reverse compatibility, simplifying obsolescence management and making End-Of-Life buys unnecessary We thank the staff of Sen. Bob Casey, Sen. John Fetterman, and Rep. Fitzpatrick for visiting our facility – demonstrating how our innovative work can help support our nation's Navy and for their support of our mission to strengthen the U.S. fleet. We’d also like to thank @JackFeenick and the ACIBC for coordinating this facility tour with our Congressional Members. We will continue to demonstrate how these innovative products and services from LOWEN Marine and Industrial, LLC and Harold Beck and Sons, Inc. can assist in establishing the US Navy’s Industrial Base. 🇺🇸 Last week was a busy and exciting one at Baker Industries! Last Friday, after hosting Senator Gary Peters' Regional Director earlier in the week, we had the honor of welcoming Congressman John James and two members of his staff to our facilities. During the visit, we showcased the innovative and cutting-edge solutions we provide for the US Navy aircraft carrier program, as well as other critical initiatives for the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and more. It was a great opportunity to highlight how we and other local suppliers directly contribute to the defense industrial base and support national security. We're grateful for Congressman James' ongoing support for suppliers like us who play a vital role in the aircraft carrier and defense industrial bases and his dedication to empowering local businesses and fostering a strong local economy.
