"Because of what we accomplished in the UAE 🇦🇪 Consensus, with a transition away from fossil fuel and accelerating in this decade, and sticking with 1.5 as close as we possibly can, I believe we have this incredible new blueprint for what everybody needs to be doing." - John Kerry in his remarks upon receiving the ACR Climate Leadership Award from Mary Grady.

A Global Leader that Delivers Ambitious Climate Results
About us
ACR creates confidence in the integrity of carbon markets to catalyze transformational climate results. Founded in 1996 as the first private voluntary GHG registry in the world, ACR has a quarter century of expertise in ensuring carbon credit quality and a proven track record in innovation and continuous improvement. As a leading global carbon crediting program operating in global compliance and voluntary carbon markets, ACR engages actively in a broad range of industry initiatives to help shape the development and growth of high-integrity carbon markets. We pioneer rigorous, peer-reviewed, science-based carbon accounting standards and methodologies. We operate a transparent online registry system to record the issuance, transfer, and retirement of serialized carbon credits. We oversee the registration and independent verification of greenhouse gas emission reduction and removals projects. ACR is a non-profit enterprise of Winrock International.

❓ Have you spotted the CCP label on some of ACR’s pages? Do you want to know more? The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM)) is an independent body that recognizes integrity in the voluntary carbon market, unlocking private climate finance. In April of this year, ICVCM approved ACR at the program level as “Core Carbon Principles (CCP) Eligible,” meaning that ACR is able to label CCP-Approved carbon credits from CCP-Approved Categories of carbon credits, as those approvals are earned. In June, the following ACR methodologies earned CCP Approval: Destruction of Ozone Depleting Substances from International Sources Landfill Gas Destruction and Beneficial Use Projects You can learn more about these labels and ICVCM in our new page: https://lnkd.in/eUp2qa5y

🌳🌲🌳 Project-Specific Dynamic Baselines Enhance Precision in Improved Forest Management (IFM) Did you join us for our IFM webinar a couple of weeks ago or at Climate Week NYC last week? Are you an interested project developer? ACR’s latest IFM version 2.1 is fundamentally the same workable approach that has been applied to millions of acres of forest already across the U.S. and Canada, with enhanced requirements for rigor and precision. Kurt Krapfl, ACR’s Forestry Director, shares a few of the core innovations in the updated methodology, in particular Project-Specific Dynamic Baselines, in our latest Carbon Markets 101 blog. 🔔 CALLING ALL BUSINESS LEADERS: New Open Letter to Future Carbon Credit Buyers. Are carbon credits part of your sustainability strategy? As you talk to others this week, and as you consider your own sustainability strategy, think about this essential climate solution. “Purchasing carbon credits can help companies and the planet get back on track. Investing in a diverse portfolio of credits, including both nature-based and engineered solutions, can reduce nature loss and advance actions with immediate impact. Nature is essential for maintaining a thriving economy; 55% of global GDP depends on natural capital and ecosystem services, making natural climate solutions an important part of a portfolio.” Read the rest of our open letter here: https://lnkd.in/e_3gJq4N #reduce #invest ACR at Winrock International, American Forest Foundation, Anew Climate, Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF), Julie Colehour, Bryan Cohen, Carbon Growth Partners, Climate Impact Partners, ClimeCo, Bettina von Hagen, Finite Carbon, Gordian Knot Strategies, GreenEnergy GPO, GreenTrees, LLC, Kita, LoCI Controls, Inc., National Indian Carbon Coalition, NativState, oneshot.earth, Rebellion Energy Solutions, Respira International, Rubicon Carbon, The Climate Trust, Therm Solutions, Tradewater

➡ OPEN LETTER: CALLING ALL CEOs Balance your carbon books! Reduce your corporate emissions as fast and as far as possible. Invest in high-quality carbon credits to take responsibility for the emissions you cannot reduce. Carbon credits are essential climate solutions because every business has an unavoidable carbon footprint. Now is the time for companies to take greater responsibility for the emissions they cannot reduce by purchasing and retiring high-quality carbon credits. OPEN LETTER TO FUTURE CARBON CREDIT BUYERS: Carbon Credits Are Essential Climate Solutions - Carbon markets measure impact. Carbon markets are laser-focused on measuring emissions reduced or removed. For most companies, scope 3 emissions account for more than 70% of their total emissions and most companies with Paris Agreement-aligned targets are not meeting their scope 3 targets. Carbon markets offer ways to quantify progress and contributions beyond value chain emission reductions, with rigorous measurement, monitoring, reporting and independent verification, alongside work to decarbonize.
