Ultra-lightweight, insulating fill made from post-consumer recycled glass
About us
Aero Aggregates was created as the first vertically-integrated, U.S.-based company to produce lightweight aggregate from 100% recycled glass. The founders of Aero Aggregates realized the need for a sustainable solution due to increased requirements for lightweight construction materials. Today’s civil engineering challenges include constructing on soft soils, reducing lateral earth pressures, decreasing loads on structures, and protecting underground utilities. Aero Aggregates provides an answer to most of these challenges by supplying a lightweight, sustainable, free-draining material with a high friction angle and thermal insulating properties. Our manufacturing plants are located in Eddystone, PA, Dunnellon, FL, and Modesto, CA.

At I-95/Rt 896 in Delaware, the sun’s been shining on a new interchange under construction by Wagman and Hardscapes Construction, Inc. FGA is being used as MSE backfill to build up the ramps to meet the elevation of the new bridges. #FGAFriday #DelDOT #Aeroaggregates #Sustainability #ultralightweight

We’re sharing a unique wall system with you for #FGAFriday! Hesco specializes in units that are rapidly deployable and used in a variety of applications where fast construction is key! While earthen fill is usually needed, FGA can also be used to create a sound absorbing and lightweight system – no geotextile liner required! #sustainability #ultralightweight

Thank you, Drexel University, for featuring our team members and proud alumni, Archie Filshill Ph.D. and Theresa Andrejack Loux, Ph.D., P.E., ENV SP!
Last year, the collapse of an Interstate 95 bridge in northeast Philadelphia shocked the local community. As teams worked to determine what happened, Drexel University College of Engineering alumni Archie Filshill and Theresa Andrejack Loux led the charge to reopen the crucial roadway. Filshill and Andrejack serve as CEO and CTO of Aero Aggregates of North America, who produce an innovative foamed glass aggregate that enabled six lanes to reopen in just 12 days. "As a Northeast Philly guy, that was a big deal," says Filshill. Today we’re visiting one of our customers who is working on a roadway expansion project in northern Rhode Island. The team is using a combination of supersack and bulk deliveries and placing UL-FGA behind a new retaining wall to relieve ground pressure. Aero’s (3.4)-yd3 supersacks work great when installing UL-FGA in tight and confined spaces. Happy Foamed Glass Aggregate Friday! #Aeroaggregates #Sustainability #FGAFriday
