We change the story for the kids we serve by funding activities that allow them to have the childhood they deserve.
About us
More than 26 children will enter foster care in Arizona – today alone. Many times they come with little more than the clothes on their back or what they can carry in a trash bag. Although they come from all backgrounds, every child who comes into foster care has one thing in common: a story of abuse or neglect or both. The Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation changes the story for the children and youth we serve by funding activities that can help them learn a new skill, play a new sport, meet a new friend and have the childhood they deserve.

When Matthew finished high school, he had two passions in mind: becoming a teacher or working as a mechanic. The moment he joined Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation’s Keys to Success program, he eagerly explored both career paths before choosing to be a mechanic. While Matthew knew he wanted to attend community college, he wasn’t sure what resources were available to help him achieve his dream. With the support of Keys to Success, he received guidance every step of the way – from applying to Pima Community College to navigating his FAFSA and ETV applications for financial aid. Throughout the journey, Matthew also learned valuable self-advocacy skills, thanks to the coaching and encouragement he received from his KTS team. Today, he’s speeding ahead, pursuing a degree in automotive technology and on track to earn his Associate of Science. When you donate to AFFCF, you’re empowering more youth like Matthew to lay the groundwork for a bright future by giving them access to essential resources and support. So grateful for this incredible group of women! Thank you for choosing Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation this week and for strengthening the work of so many East Valley non profits. Thank you for your philanthropy, leadership, and community investment 💕 Lisa Cvijanovich - thanks for sharing your passion and commitment to our cause with this wonderful group of women.
We kicked off our Q4 giving circles last night in the East Valley. Our members voted to give the foster children supported by Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation some fun. Our donations will fund activities like new bicycles or scooters, music classes, swim lessons, youth sports, or new school clothes. Many times, children come into foster care with little more than the clothes on their back or what they can carry in a trash bag as they’re rushed out the door. They may have never ridden a bicycle or sat down for a family meal. They may be struggling to keep up in school or never dared dream of playing a sport. AFFCF changes the story for kids in foster care by funding social, athletic and educational activities and items that provide them with quality experiences while they live through very difficult circumstances. A special thank you to our new venue sponsor, Kiln! Our members loved the new space. #thepowerof100 #100WWC #givingcirclesofaz

You made Chloe’s day! Because of our caring community, Chloe gets to play soccer. She wrote to us: “You are very kind for what you did. You made my day and I really appreciate it very much...You are an amazing and generous person.” Making a positive impact for children and youth in foster care is as easy as making a foster care tax credit donation to Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation. And you can get a dollar-for-dollar credit – up to $1,173 – back on your AZ state taxes! Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gDVEGwdu. #ThankYouThursday #FosterCareTaxCredit #AFFCF #azffcf #YouWinKidsWin

Javier’s foster mom says he loves being around water. So it was important that he get swim lessons and learn how to be safe. With funding from Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation, Javier gets to have one-on-one swimming lessons. According to his foster mom, he’s a fish in the water and absolutely loves the class! Javier’s foster family wouldn’t be able to provide this life-saving (and fun) activity without funding from AFFCF. And AFFCF wouldn’t be able to help without the support of our caring community. Consider making your foster care tax credit donation today at affcf.org/give and make a positive impact on more kids in foster care like Javier. #FosterCare #AFFCF #azffcf #FosterCareTaxCredit #ChangeTheStory #Donate

In Arizona alone, there are approximately 9,000 children and youth in foster care. Yet, shockingly, only a fraction — just over 2,000 — are fortunate enough to find solace in licensed foster homes. What does it take to become a licensed foster parent? We’ve highlighted the responsibilities of a foster parent so you can see if you’re up to the task. Over the past year, we've been listening closely to our Keys to Success graduates, and we're thrilled to share some fantastic news! 100% of the youth who transitioned to graduate status in our program agree that our services have met their needs and empowered them to achieve their career and life goals. Here's what Donna, one of our participants, had to say: "Keys to Success has contributed to the progress I’ve made toward my goals in life by helping me be true to myself and be able to feel confident on my own." Thank you, Donna, and to all our graduates for your feedback! We're committed to continuing our support for your journey to success. #KeysToSuccess #FosterCare #AFFCF #azffcf #ChangeTheStory

Meet Andrew, a bright young dreamer in the Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation’s Keys to Success program! Back in high school, he aspired to become a pilot but had no clue where to start. Thanks to the support from his career development specialist, Andrew got a chance to chat with a real pilot. They discussed everything from daily responsibilities to the education he needed. Fast forward, Andrew is now soaring high, studying Airway Science Technology at Mesa Community College. Your support can help more youth aging out of foster like Andrew achieve their dreams! By donating to AFFCF, you can change lives and get a dollar-for-dollar credit on your AZ state taxes, up to $1,173.
