We love bringing to life the little details architects have thought of to make a building unique. UCSF’s Nancy Friend Pritzker Psychiatry Building included tapered mesh fins that light up at night + a DNA design on the interior. Elevated design seamlessly integrated. Exciting work over at UC Berkeley with some great partners!
Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. is flying up two-story facade panels built jointly by Architectural Glass & Aluminum and Willis Construction Co., Inc. and installed by Commercial Exteriors Inc as we continue to close in the Academic Seismic Replacement Building at University of California, Berkeley! Envelope dry-in is anticipated for completion on mid-December, with rough-in to follow.

Last year, we launched our Employee Ownership Committee, built on four pillars: engagement, community, education, and celebration. In honor of #EmployeeOwnershipMonth, our team took a half day last Friday to give back to the community. Our Livermore team packed carrots at the Alameda County Community Food Bank. During the shift, 26,120 pounds of food were packed, which means 21,418 meals will be distributed to our local community. In Clackamas, Oregon, our team volunteered at Habitat for Humanity Portland Region ReStore. They spent the day building furniture, organizing inventory, and loading and unloading items. The Temecula team participated in a Brush with Kindness event, painting the home of a senior in Menifee with Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley. We are proud to support our local communities. #EmployeeOwned #Community

Kudos to the team behind the MSC South project. We’re thankful to be involved in such an impactful initiative that has exceeded the goal of 30% local workers on site. #RespectForTheVision #EfficiencyDriven
Los Angeles World Airports has begun the process of relocating all nine segments of the Midfield Satellite Concourse South (MSC South) project across the airfield. The MSC South project is being built using a cutting-edge technique called Offsite Construction and Relocation (OCR), which allows for segments of a project to be constructed at a different location before being transported to the final site for installation. Today marked the successful delivery of the third building segment to the project site, which is located south of the West Gates at Tom Bradley International Terminal. As an extension of the West Gates, MSC South will add approximately 150,000 square feet of space and eight gates for narrowbody aircraft. The construction team delivering MSC South under General Contractor W.E. O'Neil Construction is comprised of local workers, with more than 30% representation from Los Angeles' workforce. Because the segments were constructed using the OCR method, contractors were able to include workers who may not have been eligible to perform work on an active airfield. The project includes 374 local hires and 2 HireLAX Apprenticeship Readiness Program graduates. More than 32 percent of total work hours to date have been completed by local workers, surpassing the project’s goal of 30 percent. Thank you to our partners W.E. O'Neil Construction, Woods Bagot, Buro Happold, SME Steel and the entire project team. Read more at lax.to/Rb9g6.

Low-E, also known as low-emissivity, is a coating used on glass to minimize the penetration of infrared and ultraviolet rays without compromising natural light in buildings. This technology has been transforming the thermal aspects of buildings since the 1980s. #DoingItRight #EfficiencyDriven

Our team has just wrapped up an inspiring few days at the Facade Tectonics 2024 World Congress at the University of Utah College of Architecture + Planning. We’ve gained valuable insights into high-performance facades, explored the potential for industry advancements through higher education research, and engaged in critical discussions on the pressing issue of embodied carbon. Excited to apply what we’ve learned!

Safety Spotlight — Keeping employees safe while handling units that often weigh 1000+ pounds requires the proper equipment and training. Our teams participate in training sessions throughout the year to learn to safely operate material handling equipment such as spyder cranes, jib cranes, and electric pallet jacks. #Safety #DoingItRight

There’s nothing that makes our design team happier than a good challenge needing a custom system. In 2020, we joined Webcor and SOM on Genesis Marina in Brisbane, CA. The three building complex included a sawtooth system, a first for our team, and a fly-by feature. Rigorous testing, ingenuity and collaboration was the recipe for success.
