The University of The Bahamas has appointed Dr. Robert Blaine III as the new President! He will begin his position on July 1. Dr. Blaine currently serves as the Senior Executive and Director of the Center for Leadership, Education, Advancement and Development (LEAD) and the Center for Municipal Practice for the National League of Cities. Dr. Blaine earned a B.M. in Performance from Indiana University, a M.M. in Performance from The Catholic University of America, and a D.M.A. in  Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester. Albany State University has appointed Dr. Robert Scott as the new President! He will begin his position on May 1. Dr. Scott currently serves as the President of Research and Development at The Kraft Heinz Co. Prior to The Kraft Heinz Co., he served in executive leadership roles at Abbott Nutrition and The Coca-Cola Co. He also served as an Associate Dean at Boston College and Spelman College. Randolph-Macon College has appointed Dr. Michael E. Hill as its new President! He will begin his new role on August 1. Dr. Hill recently completed his tenure as President at Chautauqua Institution. Prior to Chautauqua, he led the non-profit Youth for Understanding USA and served in senior level roles at United Cerebral Palsy, Washington National Cathedral, and The Washington Ballet. Savannah State University has appointed Dr. Jermaine Whirl as the University’s next President! He will begin his position on April 1. Dr. Whirl currently serves as the President of Augusta Technical College, a role he has held since November 2020. Prior to Augusta Technical College, he served as a faculty member and administrative leader at several institutions including Greenville Technical College, Savannah Technical College, Georgia Southern University, and East Georgia State University. Dr. Whirl earned his associates of arts degree from Trident Technical College, and his bachelor’s degree in economics from Winthrop University. He earned an MBA from Charleston Southern University, an M.Ed. in adult education and community leadership from Armstrong State University (now Georgia Southern University), and an Ed.D. in organizational leadership from Valdosta State University.
