AIRinVET at business event in San Sebastian On Tuesday, October 1st, AFM Advanced Manufacturing Technologies together with IMH Campus held an in-person event at their Donostia (Basque Country, Spain) offices, titled "Intelligent Process Automation: The Key to an Efficient Company." The event showcased the latest trends in business process automation, offering insights into how companies are leveraging these technologies for operational excellence. During the session, AFM and IMH also introduced the AIRINVET project, our initiative aimed at driving applied innovation in both educational and industrial environments and based on the idea that VET Centres are able to bring worthfull solutions based on applied research to SMEs. Made in VET - Applied Research and Innovation 🛠️ ✨On October 16th, as part of the AIRinVET project, we organised an online symposium titled Made in VET - Applied Research and Innovation. During this symposium, we extensively explored the possibilities and added value of R&I by VET institutes, aimed at SMEs in their region. To kick of the final 3 months of our project, we as the AIRinVET team gathered at the office of our project coordinator TKNIKA. In this post a short summary of what we have done: - some meetings with the project team to discuss the development of our main results. Also the project officer of #EACEA attended our meetings. - discussing the sustainability of the project results and bringing them into practice. - broadcasting our Symposium. More on this next week. - validate with experts from our sisterproject (Challenger Project, NEARVET- Network for Applied Research in VET and BARCOVE) the Framework we develop for doing applied research for SMEs in your #VET Centre. - discuss and start writing the statements we will make about Applied Innovation and Research in VET in the European context in general and country specific. - a visit to IMH Campus. 🌐One of the main results of our project on Applied Innovation and Research in Vocational Education and Training is the development of a Framework that describes all aspects needed to organise this in your VET institution. What a fantastic visit to wrap up the #AIRinVET meeting! 🔥Friday morning gave us the perfect opportunity to visit the IMH Campus, and we made the most of it. Located in the heart of Spain’s manufacturing hub, the Basque Country, IMH is a leading Advanced Manufacturing Centre that trains skilled technicians and engineers. 💡IMH stands out as a pioneer in dual education, developing the industry-driven training that meets the evolving demands of the sector. They offer a range of programs, including technical courses designed for lifelong learning. With a focus on workspace-based and challenge-based learning, IMH puts real-world experience at the core of its teaching philosophy. ⚙️We also had the privilege of touring the IMH museum, where the rich history of the Basque manufacturing industry is showcased. The highlight? All the historic machines are still functional and maintained by the students themselves! A quick update from our project. At these days, we are gathered together in San Sebastian, The Basque Country Spain, for our final meeting as the consortium of AIRinVET. We use our time among others to discuss the Roadmap and Self Assesment Tool and on the recommendations we have for the VET Education system in the European countries (and all over the world, for sure) and policy makers on both National and EU-level. We are happy that the project officer from #EACEA and partners from our sisterprojects (Nataša Kristan Primšar from the Challenger project and Juan Manuel Mondèjar from the BARCOVE project) also could attend our meeting. This morning, we broadcasted our online symposium live from one of the buildings of our host and project coordinator TKNIKA. We will publish the symposium on our website and Youtube channel in the upcoming days. Also the reports on the Roadmap and the policy recommendations and the self assessment tool will be published on our website and communicated on this LinkedIn page. One of the main events where we shared the results of AIRinVET was the #COPCoves Event 2024, held in Lyon (France) from 9th to 11th September. 📅 💡In his presentation, Iñigo Araiztegui Arraiz highlighted the mapping activities of existing applied and innovative research and the AIRINVET-framework we developed. The AIRinVET framwork outlines what #VET Centres should consider when starting and continuing to offer applied and innovative research services to SMEs.
