“Every human being has the right to freedom of movement and of residence within the confines of his own state. When there are just reasons for it, he must be permitted to emigrate to other countries and to take up residence there. The fact that he is a citizen of a particular state does not deprive him of membership to the human family, nor of citizenship in that universal society, the common, world-wide fellowship of men.” (#25) Pope John XXIII Pacem et Terris (Peace on Earth) ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40 https://lnkd.in/dt7RNihu

Labor trafficking is a hidden but widespread issue that exploits millions globally, robbing them of their basic human rights. This modern form of slavery thrives on the exploitation of vulnerable individuals. Labor trafficking occurs across various industries, from agriculture to hospitality, where workers are often trapped in abusive conditions with no escape. This issue is deeply systemic, affecting entire supply chains and the products we use daily. To end it, we must demand transparency from businesses, enforce strong labor laws, and ensure support for victims. But this journey isn't just for governments and businesses—it's for all of us. By staying informed, making ethical consumer choices, and supporting organizations like ours, we can help end labor trafficking. At the Alliance, we are committed to raising awareness, advocating for stronger worker protections, and supporting survivors as they reclaim their lives. Join us in this crucial mission to ensure that every worker is treated with dignity and respect. #LaborDay #EndHumanTrafficking

Today, we honor the memory of those who endured the horrors of the transatlantic slave trade and pay tribute to the courageous individuals who fought for the abolition of this inhumane system. This is a day to reflect on the past and consider the work still needed to end all forms of exploitation. #EndHumanTrafficking
