Alta Futures provides grants, networking, and customized support to people and projects that are shaping more positive futures for our communities, our country and our climate.
Alta Futures, our partner shaping more positive futures for our communities, toured West Garfield Park with Chicago historian, Shermann Dilla Thomas, yesterday. They stopped by our offices to meet some of our frontline teams and learned about our approach to building peace in Chicago. Alta Futures is committed to understanding the neighborhood's needs to better advocate for more investment to create a thriving West Garfield Park! Thank you for the visit and the partnership!
We would love to host more tour visits to WGP, Austin, and Back of the Yards! Reach out today. info@nonviolencechicago.org
2024 is a big year for election reform! And as the movement continues to grow, Unite America is hiring for a Head of Program – an executive-level role that is responsible for driving state-level policy victories and managing all of our advocacy and grantmaking programs.
The ideal candidate has deep advocacy and program management experience, and an ability to strategically allocate resources across a national map of campaign opportunities. The position is based in Denver, CO and we are open to considering exceptional candidates nationally.
[Unite America is a philanthropic venture fund that invests in nonpartisan election reform to foster a more representative and functional government capable of solving America's most pressing challenges. Since 2019, our cross-partisan team has mobilized over $70M+ to help achieve dozens of policy victories across the country –– including primary reform in Alaska, independent redistricting in Virginia, and ranked choice voting in NYC.]
I would greatly appreciate your sharing this opportunity with anyone in your network who may be interested!

There is a need for greater national investment into rural regions, where community groups often operate with limited resources.
The Trust for Civic Life exists to address that by investing $50 million over the next five years in a new wave of people, places, and programs that increase trust, agency, and belonging in American communities. There is no single root cause for declining civic engagement, which is why a one-size-fits-all approach does not work and we need community-driven strategies.
Today they are unveiling $8M in initial grants supporting Americans coming together to solve problems and take action to create the future they want to see.
We are excited to be Learning Members, engaging with grantees to identify successful civic programs that can be replicated in other communities. We invite you to join us through funding or nominating a locally-led organization.

Congrats to Jordan Campbell! We are thrilled to get to work with an artist that is so talented and values aligned. We appreciate all that you've done for Alta Futures but also for all of Chicago.

Recently caught up with Kristen Cambell and learned more about their new campaign. If you are seeking to maximize your impact on democracy and civic life in America, joining PACE is a good place to start.
Understanding the difference between politics and democracy is crucial for funders. Politics is about the mechanisms of decision-making—who makes decisions and how. Democracy, however, is a broader concept involving fairness, inclusion, and equality, focusing on how we live together as a society.
While politics often align with specific agendas, democracy transcends these boundaries, promoting a cohesive and empowered community. As funders, grasping this distinction helps us support initiatives that strengthen democratic values beyond partisan divides.
Kristen Cambell and her team at Philanthropy for Active Civic Engagement (PACE) are exploring this concept more deeply in a series of salons across the country. If you are interested in learning more, check out the salon schedule here: https://lnkd.in/eZyGP5YR

We were thrilled to bring B-360 to Melody Elementary School in West Garfield Park yesterday. During the pop-up event, students had a chance to participate in several STEM activities and watch dirt bike demonstrations. A huge shout-out to the B-360 crew for making the trip to Chicago and for making STEM so exciting and culturally relevant! We are proud to partner with you, the incredible team at Melody Elementary and the Children First Fund. And, of course, none of this would be possible without first learning about social entrepreneur Brittany Young through The CAFE Group where she is a 1954 Project Luminary. Collaboration in action, across organizations and across state lines!
We are thrilled to welcome Aaron Koch to our team to lead our Climate and Democracy work. Please learn more about his background here: https://lnkd.in/dRe5QAcn
