The Alliance for Inclusive and Multicultural Marketing (AIMM). A branch of the Association of National Advertisers (ANA)

About us

Multicultural Americans total 130 million, representing nearly 40 percent of the total U.S. population and controlling nearly $3.7 trillion in purchasing power. The LGBTQ community represents an additional $1 trillion. Companies that are purposefully engaging these audiences can experience business growth in an environment where it is difficult to do so. The Alliance for Inclusive and Multicultural Marketing (AIMM), a branch of the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), was developed to help companies understand the opportunity and provide them with the information and tools they need to seize the opportunity. Comprised of more than 70-member corporations, media and research companies, advertising agencies and trade association representing the Hispanic, African-American, Asian and LGBTQ segments, AIMM is at the forefront of developing a blueprint for marketers to better engage the Multicultural and Inclusive audiences that directly links to business growth. As AIMM founding member and Chief Brand Office of Procter & Gamble Co., Marc Pritchard says, "If you are not doing Multicultural marketing today, then you're not doing marketing," AIMM is committed to leading the industry in making Multicultural and Inclusive marketing just the way business is done.

As AI becomes arguably inextricable from our industries, there's a growing risk of bias—where algorithms may unintentionally reflect and amplify existing stereotypes or exclude diverse perspectives. For multicultural marketers, this means that without careful oversight, AI could undermine the authenticity and inclusivity of campaigns. ANA AIMM and The Cultural Inclusion Accelerator™ are committed to equipping our members with comprehensive resources that guide responsible AI usage through our research, guides and toolkits. Our latest infographic, "6 Ways Multicultural Marketers Can Reduce AI Bias," offers practical steps to mitigate these risks, ensuring your AI-driven efforts truly reflect the diversity of your audience. Here at AIMM, we are constantly pushing to spread the message that our research has shown to be true: that effective inclusive marketing can yield major benefits for brands. Our very own Carlos Santiago, AIMM co-founder and president of Santiago Solutions Group, Inc., was featured in an article by Danielle Oster in MediaPost’s Marketing Daily. The article announces the release of the Association of National Advertisers’ “Ethics Code of Marketing Best Practices,” which was crafted based on research by the ANA and AIMM and covers topics from multicultural inclusivity to the ethical use of AI. In his conversation with Marketing Daily, Santiago cites recent AIMM research to emphasize how diversity in marketing is essential from both an ethical and business standpoint. AIMM continues to be a leading voice in the marketing industry, emphasizing the benefits of effective inclusive marketing that have been validated by our research. Ad Age spoke with AIMM founder Gilbert Dávila about the evolution of the term “multicultural marketing,” how consumer demographics have changed, and the industry barriers that prevent brands from authentically connecting with diverse audiences. Authenticity has proved to be a hot topic of discussion, as ADWEEK’s article about the impact of the Bud Light Boycott on the marketing industry featured AIMM research on how authentic commitments to diverse segments can have a positive effect on brand perception. Sonia Thompson also recognized AIMM’s research on her Inclusion and Marketing podcast when she delved into what made The Home Depot AIMM’s Most Culturally Inclusive Brand. This award was the result of a study by AIMM in partnership with the Cultural Inclusion Accelerator, which surveyed a diverse sample of consumers on their perception of 120 brands.
